Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
You have written your book. Now what? If you decide on self publishing you do have options.
Option 1:You can send the publisher your book as a word document. The publisher can format and layout your work and then make print copies.
Option 2: This option is not recommended for the novice author/writer. You can decide to do your own editing, formatting and page layout and send to your publisher your entire book files in PDF format. The PDF file/s must be an exact trim size of…

I'm a baby boomer and I like the ole fashion way of dating. How about you and could you share with me some of the dates that you found interesting? Thank ya kindly! (Words from the mouth of John Whitterspoon)

Rick Robinson, Sunny Frazier, and Sparkle Abbey.
Three authors (four actually since SA is actually two collaborators) to whom I must give credit for making me think about this week’s blog. Let me explain.
Many moons ago, I met Sunny Frazier, Oak Tree Press’ acquisition editor, at the Killer Nashville conference. She was personable, open, friendly and we…

Firstly, you’re opening yourself and the company you work for to get a nasty lawsuit!
Secondly, no one is worth losing the respect of your team.
I’ve seen managers play favorites time and again, and always for the wrong reasons. I remember a person who was consistently number 1 in sales. But that was the only thing he was good at. The person treated everyone around him poorly. He never said hi to anyone, or thanked them when they helped him with his sales (and he got plenty of…

Hey all,
I am hoping someone can help me with this. It is probably easy to do but does anyone know how to delete the extra blank pages out of your manuscript. I finished all the editing and have a few pages after i decided not to add any illustrations.

Does your writing have that bloated, overstuffed feeling? Do you have the habit of packing in more words than needed for clear communication? Are your readers easily fatigued by your writing? Do you send out your documents without first subjecting them to rigorous and strenuous editing? Do you run out of breath when reading aloud?
If you answered “Yes” to any…

Two little girls sat playing with each other. First cousins, almost sisters, best friends. Their future was uncertain, they clung to each other for comfort. They didn't want to be split up.
They had heard the grown-ups talking, they knew change was in the air. They thought they heard that one of them was going to be leaving to go... God knows…

Hello,
It has been a little while since I have been in here. Been busy with editing the second book in the trilogy I also found that after writing the second book the title does not fit anymore so I am thinking really hard on changing it. But not sure if i can even do that since book one is already published. I don't want to confuse my readers. My Co-author told me if we change the name now we are going to have to go back and change the first book as well. Which wouldn't be hard but…

As a child I had dreams that have stuck to me to this day. Some seemed very real, some very strange, scary. I never forgot them. Some dreams are from things happening to scare me as a little girl.
Not long ago, a mystery was solved for me. I always thought about a very real dream I had since I was a child.…
