Good Karma is alive and well!

Now this is a way to start your day!

I'm helping a couple who say they've been shopping for a new range. After visiting three competitors they were still on the fence over which brand to purchase.

"The reviews I've read online are very negative about many brands I thought would be good for our kitchen remodel," the husband said.

I explained how I didn't take to heart online reviews because I'm familiar with the fact that competitors will create phony reviews to trash the…

Thank goodness we have Good Book Friday!

On an evening like this (raining and cold), what better way than to kick back at home and reading a book?

In my latest book 'Who's Minding the Store,'  Derrick Payton, newly-promoted store manager can't find his employees on the sales floor where customers await assistance. Walking from department to department, he hears a familiar sound of passion coming from a work room closet. Find out how he handles this with you own…

Holding my breath

Ideal purpose of leaving me withno notice was to be more trusted by you to come straight back from awalk to the market but when I retured, you were absent/gone. Act of dolite not to hold on to these memories of paradise in my ownselfish way. Being stingy as alway. Im dying to know how my mom is doing everyday that pass by, with every second that tick away on the clock, as I watch it on the wall in the hallway. Its torcher on the holidays and vacation trips that I take out of town. Its like…

Adult Truth #4

“There is a great need for a sarcasm font.”

Why? Because of all those pesky ‘ly’ words we writers aren’t supposed to use, yet every other published author does. Come on, raise your hand if you’ve ever heard some author/agent/editor/writing guru pontificate on how writers should never, ever, ever, use adverbs, especially in dialogue tags. If you do, you risk rejection,…

Here's an excerpt from 'Who's Minding the Store?'

There was no time for celebration. Derrick had to catch his breath. His heart raced. He was perspiring, and his deodorant wasn’t holding up to the claims made by its advertising campaign.

I can’t go to the store looking like I s*** my pants.

A Starbucks was nearby. He practically ran to it, and headed straight for the bathroom. He locked the door, splashed water over his face at the sink, and then stared in the mirror. His breathing returned to normal, but he was red in…

Still Waiting!

This is just to say hello and I'm more or less still alive, but partly from ill health, partly from particularly intense stress and partly because I'm still waiting for a piece of news, I've been incommunicado.  Has anyone else with long-term health problems had kind friends asking if you're now able to spend all that free time writing, when actually getting a cup of tea is a bit of a struggle?  I do have previously completed work in the bank, as it were, and a work in progress whose entire…

'I demand you match this online price!'

“Why not ask me to give you the product for free?”

In my latest novel, ‘Who’s Minding the Store?’ Derrick Payton faces customers who want him to match online retailer prices. The scenario you read in my book is all too real in every business across the country. Now why do you suppose businesses can’t match online prices?

Derrick handles the situation fine in my book. I’ve found myself explaining to customers how brick-and-mortar businesses can’t afford to match…

This is for the children

As an author and father, one of my driving passions is to help children, especially those that do not have help. One small thing I am trying is eBay Giving Works. I have listed a paperback copy of The Empyrical Tales Book I: The Fourth Queen on eBay and set it up to donate 90% of the sale to …

Why I Write

I grew up in East Los Angeles with my grandparents and younger brother. My parents, living in Chino where I reside now, were always busy with work, and had no time to take care of us. My father was a trucker, and Mom was, and still is, a supervisor for the Southern California Gas Company. We would visit them on the weekends, but during the week it was just me and my twin-brother with the grandparents.

We didn't have much to do there, and the internet wasn't out. My brother was very…
