Again I agree with Anna. And I like what Steve wrote also...

Yes, just don't give up! I have received roughly 10 rejections from agents so far, and yet I managed to find an independent publisher for my novel. Maybe some of those agents will take a second look once I get my book noticed... Oh, and the ones that replied were very polite and supportive so I didn't get despondent.

I just got another rejection e-mail. And yes they were polite and supportive. My plan is to send out five MS to five publishers and agents at a time. Thus far I'v gotten back five or six rejections from large publishers and two from agents. It is a learning process. Everytime the MS is out there, there is hope. I use to send out poetry and I can't tell you how many poems were turned down, but I can tell you I have 28 poems published. Some were published more than once. One was published 16 times. I only count that one as one. So I will keep trying and I believe After the Fact will get published. And I thank all of you guys for your great suport.

Robert - Good thinking! You'll get there... Everything happens in time and for a reason.

Thanks guys!!! I can't believe how much this rejection bothed me tonight. I know better. And yes, I agree with you Stacy, everything happens in time. I revised my synopsis today and I was very happy with the beginning but the rest isn't there yet. I hate writing in present tense. Not able to use the words was, or were and so on...And Thank you Anna...

Welcome Essence. We all try to be very helpful. Just ask for whatever help you need and we'll all do whatever we can.

Thank you! I do actually have a question. Is it ok that the main character resemble yourself, in ways both physically and personality-wise, but they still have their own style that is different from yours? For example, my main character is very creative, like me, but she is also very outgoing around everyone, unlike me. Thanks for the input!

To some extent we all do something of that sort. Have at it and have fun.
