Discover The Splendor Of Panagsama

Panagsama is a Cebuano dialect here in my country, the Philippines, meaning "Brotherhood", and it is a name of the village that I am calling "My Home Sweet Home ". It is located in the southern part of Cebu, also known as "The Queen City of the South ", and has the most magnificent sunset that mesmerizes my whole being.

My heart belongs to Panagsama and Panagsama belongs to my heart. To each and everyone in this wonderful world of Authors.Com., "Discover The Splendor…

New to Authors.com

Just wanted to say 'hello' to my fellow scribes. I have been on another free authors web site since 2000, and I have communicated with writers from all over the world on it.

As for myself, I am a degreed journalist who has worked as a reporter, have been issued a teacher's certificate, am working on my Masters in Education, and have decided to go with PublishAmerica on the republication of the new version of my critically-acclaimed science fiction novel.

[Now, if I can only figure out… Continue

The Way It Works

Hey all!

I have something a little different this time.

Free Clinic will be in print by Christmas, and Crossed Wires is in the final stages of the writing process, i.e., still working on it.

But here's the rub: getting it out there.

With the advent of the e-book and other self publishing venues, the major houses are getting a little skittish.

Submit your work professionally. Get an agent of not ill repute and contract them. Be careful.

Intellectual property is still…

What I made at work (Smile)

Wow I havent be on for a long time but heres something I made at work.

Smile, my love, right now,

because next time laughter comes into our relationship

I don't think one of us will be able to get up.

So smile my darling, Smile!

I wrote this on a napkin with a lil drawing of a girl looking sad but still smiling.

One of my co workers liked it and kept it and said she would frame and put on her wall when she goes to prison.

Haha so I tried to… Continue

Publishing

Linda, look at Lulu.com. They publish all my books and only charge when a title sells. I think it's the best deal available.

The Winter of My Repose

Hi! My name is Linda. I have recently been published by Publish America and I am finding it difficult to market my book.Even though they published my book for free they are a print on demand company. I have already bought many copies of my book but since they don't give discounts to book stores I am at a loss as to what I should do.Yes many of my friends have bought my book but I am now running out of family and friends. Anyone have any suggestions. Writing is a hobby for me and right now I am… Continue

NPR!

NPR just broadcast a very interesting program about the "future" of book publishing. Of course, this means the Internet. Look at us...we're here making things happen. The program mentioned Lulu.com prominently. That's where I have my books posted. So, I'm off to the gym for my workout basking in my identity as a "cutting edge" author!

Blessings!

Hurts So Good!

I'm an exercise junkie. I just finished a HARD workout...and it hurts so good! There's a very clear reason for this, however. If I can make it happen, next summer I would like to climb ALL (54) 14,000' mountains in Colorado. And I would like to bicycle from Michigan to Colorado carrying all my gear! (Hey, why not?)

I honestly don't know if I can make this happen, but I'm going to train for it anyway. That way, if I can pull it off, I'll be ready. And if I can't, I'm certain my training… Continue

Archie eats Won Tons in Japan.

I have seen Mama's dog Archie in such countries as Japan and Australia. Undoubtedly, he loves to travel. Next, I may find him on the love boat. I wish I could see him on the Titanic. Archie eats Won Tons in Japan. If you would like to see more of Archie, then check out my latest entitled Biscuits With Archie: The Poetry and Stories of C.H. Allen Clark available at Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com . Also, visit my site at outskirtspress.com/biscuitswitharchie .

Are You Impressed?

I just renewed my Mensa membership. Yeah, I know...how pretentious! But not really. I've been an

on and off member for a long time, and it's always been fun. Some time

ago, I coordinated the Mensa motorcycle special interest group. That was

particularly interesting.

I've met any number of remarkable people at various meetings, etc. Sure, there are a few - very few - who pose and posture, but most are

just folks, like you and me in…

100 Best Novels!

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to read the "World's 100 best novels." And now I am! (I got the list - and there are many variations - from my local librarian.)

I just finished Butler's THE WAY OF ALL FLESH. One problem...how did this make the list?

It has a certain charm, but the language turns from splendid to turgid, sometimes in the same sentence. And the plot drags on and on and on and on...in today's rapid fire world, this whole book could be reduced to a Twitter… Continue

Spring?

We'll see about that. But it's a bit warmer today and that is most welcome!

I am very fortunate that, even at my advanced age, my body works very well. In fact, I'm making plans to test my physicality next summer by climbing all the 14,000' mountains in Colorado (54 all together). I've been up a number of them - and there's no such thing as an easy mountain - but doing the whole list in, say two months sounds really satisfying.

And to top that, I'm thinking about riding my… Continue

And the Beat Goes On in Crossed Wires

Here's some more, folks. Enjoy.

My Best,

Mark

Joe Decides to Go Pro, Just before Calling Carl and Sandy

When Dave left Joe at the Motel Six in Strasburg, Joe started feeling sad. He had all of his gear, most of his money and his booze and wasn’t feeling all that tweaked. But with Dave driving off in his big space-ship rig, headed east to find Joe’s hurt brother, Joe found himself alone again. When he walked into the little, generic hotel room that…

And yet more Crossed Wires

Say Hello to Sister Stephanie

Sister Stephanie McAllister was an unusual nun for a couple of reasons. Primarily, she was odd because she actually had a direct line with the entity she believed to be God and had had that line since she could remember. Secondly and perhaps most unusually, was that Sister Stephanie was very specifically tasked by Him on many occasions. Even though she didn’t much care for His methods here on planet Earth, she followed His will well enough and understood… Continue

For Everything There is a Season

I've spent the last several weeks trying to make things happen. In this case, it's the video project I have planned. But nothing is working properly. People seem enthusiastic at first, then disappear. It's frustrating.

But it's also clear the universe wants me to wait. I'll know when the time is right, and the time is not right now.

I'm not passive by nature, so this is a little difficult. But I've learned how necessary this is.

So, I'll wait and see what… Continue
