I’m part of a generation who had to actually wait at home by the phone if I was expecting a call. Worse than that, if I sent a query to an agent, I had to wait weeks, even months, for a response by snail-mail. What torture. If I had been a nail biter back then, I’d have worked my way to my knuckles in not time.

The basketball player on the cover, captures the mystery of the Phantoms. The fact that you can't see his face adds to the mystery and the intrigue in the book.
The championship banners in the background shows the final goal of the Phantoms return to Earth.
Purple Phantoms' one-line synopsis: "Five Ghosts---basketball players whose lives were cut…

When was the last time you cried or laughed aloud while reading a book? Do you remember why the story affected you so? Let's discuss what it takes as a writer to create fiction that will make our readers laugh or cry.
Is it the story? The answer to that is yes and no, for a story alone has no power to make the reader's emotions erupt. Yet a bad story can ruin everything. Most importantly, for emotions to come to the surface, the reader has to have people to care about. Real…

So, I'm reading The Pocket Muse by Monica Wood as (you guessed it) inspiration for a writing course I am developing. As a writer myself, I found this list interesting, but rather than just post it, I wanted to add my 2 cents, just because. I hope you find both the list and my comments useful!…

(« Introspection II » by Christopher Stewart)
« Introspection II » is the fifth section, and second with vocals, of « The Chrome Lake. »
The chapter is an almost-but-not-identical twin to « Introspection I. » And again, the subject matter is pretty much self-explanatory.
Here are the lyrics :
I see you feel restrained,…

The Seance : Not Really Good, But Not Bad Either.
The Séance By Heather Graham
This is more of a random book thrown into mix. Like the reviews aren’t random enough. This one is a supernatural mystery called, “The Séance” by Heather Graham apparently is a New York Time best seller auditor, who seems to be unknown by myself and everyone I know. This one I grabbed out of a free box at a yard sale. It had water damage, a torn cover and smelled like perfume. But regardless of its…

Almost at some point in life we are working so hard at a specific goal, rather it's a house, car, career or that handsome man. In my case, I was in college I had a class with a young man who was six feet two inches, wide shoulders, muscular shape of a body builder, with a face that make a baby smile with joy. "Yes, could I make him mine? I can do this! Those jeans must be mine."
