I read an article that told of how psychologist have said it takes most people to be exposed to your products many times before they will finally decide to give your products a try. So the more exposure you offer them on many different sites, the more likely the customer will decide to click on your product. Which includes books. And the internet is the best way to expose your products to millions of potential customers.  Which does make a lot of sense. The more sites we're on the more exposure will get that's for sure.

Just something I wanted to share with the group, regarding an article I read awhile back. Wishing everyone great success!

thanks you Garry.  Is it worthwhile to tweet?  Smashwords founder Mark Coker says it is, but I just can't think what to say.

I think any articles, blogs, news, regarding your products to is beneficial as well. Blogs seem to be real popular.

Thanks for the list and the psychology information, Garry! That's interesting to know and I can see why that would work. It has to seep into your subconscious the more you see it or the advertising industry wouldn't be the multimillion dollar industry it is today.

You can find similar people on Twitter by searching the subject, Donald. If you use the hash tag in front of any search, eg #writers, you'll find more targeted Tweets by users that have included that in their Tweet.

You can also build lists so say you wanted to find fiction writers, once you do via the search you can add them to a list that contains only fiction writers of your choosing. It's like setting up a personalized category and who's on it can be public or private. Then when you want to read what they have been saying, just click your list.

I've just begun to play around with Twitter, having been a FB fan for quite a while. Like scribbler, I've been roaming around doing subject searches and also following people who are suggested as "similar to" others I'm following. That's how I got here. Can't imagine the difficulty of getting from where I am (120 followers) to the thousands, or even 10s of thousands, some others have (I'm @coachpegr, if anyone is interested). But I am finding that my activity draws more activity to me. I try to post things clever, useful, challenging. I try to retweet a lot and I'm just now working up the courage to address tweets to folks I don't even know.

I need to try the Lists thing. So far, I can't even figure out how to comment when I retweet. But I'm making progress. And there are a TON of writers, reviewers, publishers, readers out there -- which means a lot of possibility for sharing my message in front of like-minded folks, while also benefitting from their messages.

I try to support the writers that are members of our site when I find them on the www. I give special attention to my friend members and then to my group members that have events, etc. So, I'll be following you. Tweet.
