"Persuasive Writing" - I like that expression, Marina. Although I didn't set out to specifically persuade anyone with my memoir, "Awakening in the Northwest Territories," readers have commented that it is thought provoking and caused them to seriously consider their stance on certain issues. I can see why and how they had that reaction and for that I am pleased. Thanks for the expression.

Thank you. I heartily reciprocate your friendship and be glad to connect with you as and when the occasion arises.  I am a novelist and poet, having written three novels, titled, THE LION AND THE SUN, BETTER LATER THAN NEVER and ALL ABOUT BRIAN, the last of which, published recently.  You may want to read anyone of the three. You may review it and let me know your opinion in writing. Thanks again and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Hi, Dr. Kostina (Marina):

Thanks for inviting me to be your friend on Authors.com. I'm flattered to be asked, and of course I heartily accept! I can't believe your favorite author is Erich Maria Remarque! He is also my favorite! I have all of his novels (mostly old books collected through used book stores, including "All Quiet..." in the original German and the first English version. That book influenced my memoir of the Vietnam War, "The Proud Bastards." I served with the Marines in combat during 1967-68 (18 & 19 yrs. old at the time). My favorite book besides "All Quiet" is probably "The Road Back," his second novel about the German vets of WWI returning home from the war and the challenges they faced.

I'm a writer, and have published in the genres of memoir, historical fiction, and am now involved in a mystery series -- "Deadly Catch: A Mac McClellan Mystery" is the first in the series. You can see more about my books at my website: www.emichaelhelms.com, or at Goodreads.com, or my Amazon.com author page (just type-in E. Michael Helms).

Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Michael

Thanks for adding me to you list of friends. I look forward to our association. I'm not familiar with your favorite author. I'll have to look that one up.

Okay, I must ask, what is Persuasive Writing? I think I get the concept but would like to hear it from you.

E. Michael Hems, if you are still out there, I think you might like my novel "Two Blind men And A Fool. It is placed at a Veteran's Hospital in 1946 in San Francisco where most of the patients were wounded in the war against Japan. The music of the error is used as a healing element. Prejudice is confronted when a new orderly arrives who was a Neisei medic and war hero himself. It is also a most unusual love story.
