I'm at the "coloring in stage" of my sequel to Lord Skyler and The Earth Defense Force. The name of the sequel is The Universe Calls.
The coloring stage is where I read through a scene and I freeze the moment and look around the room that the characters are in. I see everything that is in the room, some of it I'll end up describing.
Sometimes I'll look for something in the room that brings up a memory for the…

The answer is real simple to this one, folks. You do not have to have a degree in jet propulsion in astro physics to grasp the concept here. The gameplan is as such: The Author’s Lab/ Collaboration series is going to be a weekly thing; there is no doubt on that. If you have paid any attention at all to this series you will have found out that not only are they a quality read but that they are climbing in ranking on Amazon Kindle. “Down Low- Dead” the first in the…

Who has the desire to tackle the subject of global warming and just kick it in its teeth? Who has the ability to not only do that, but back it up with it up with a soon to be released follow-up that has possible solutions on not just a world wide scale but on an individual one? Why that author would be Big Daddy Abel, he of the highly rated and also Number 1 “Open Mic” series (in its Amazon Kindle category for sales, Open Mic volume One is #1,Volume Two is #2, and…

To say that this is an interesting piece of work to read is an understatement. I am not a deep thinker, nor do I feel that is going to change anytime soon, so it is my guess that much of the deep meaning and symbolism used is way, way over my head. That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy this read; that just means if my I.Q. was a bit higher I would have understood more of what was going on here. This is a serious set of short stories, and let’s not lose sight of the fact that English is not the…

Why are women mean to each other?
Fresh off of playing another series of live shows in several different
states, I tend to contemplate things. How to make shows better, look for
new songs, etc. Sometimes I revisit the actions of people I observed in
my travels. Currently I am wondering: Why are women mean to each other? I
don't mean that ALL women are mean to each other, but quite a few are. I
see it a lot. Mainly I see it at night while I…

I just voted for this story! I laughed out loud in several places in the excerpt--I can only imagine how much I will enjoy the book if it wins! Please have a look and vote for her-the winner of this contest gets a publishing contract. C.E. Hart is amazing--really quirky and fun. I copied and pasted from her blog to get this to all of you out there.

I was almost run down by a pickup truck in the parking lot of our local grocery store. I don’t mean that I walked in front of a truck or they didn’t see me coming. I’m talking about a woman who got behind the wheel, checked where I was in the mirror and gunned her engine at me. She only stopped after the corner of her truck had hit my chest hard enough to bump me back a few feet.
This is a true story. Let me explain.
My wife and I were shopping for groceries. When we walked…

The one idea I wanted to bring out in my award wining scifi novel was the day the alien Titans invaded to haverst our planet is the day everybody realized that we weren't seperate races but we are all part of the Human Race. Its almost like, "I can say that about my brother but you can't say it."
I would love to have "love" bring the Human race togeather but I quicken the event by having us all hate the same alien race togeather. Its not pretty but I think more practical. …

You have two connected ideas, two ideas that together make a complete message. In fact, the connection is so close that you want to join them into one long sentence. For example, let’s say you want to communicate these two ideas:
1. The man entered with a gun.
2. Bank personnel were not amused.
You want to write them in one longer…

Giovanni Gelati, blog talk radio star and co-collaborator once asked my husband, fellow author Cody Toye, if he lived in fear of waking up with me standing over him with a butcher knife in my hand. While I can indeed shoot razor sharp darts at him with the look that is perfected over time with every married woman, I’m sure Mrs. Gelati can vouch for this; I have never caused him physical harm. I have ways of making him attest to this point, mwahaha.
How is…

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
By Bob Hamer
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem." …Ronald Reagan
I spent four years on active duty as a Marine and twenty-six years as a street agent for the FBI. In retirement I’ve penned three books and have written for television. I’ve met Medal of Honor recipients and the Commandant of the Marine Corps, award-winning actors and Hall of Fame athletes, politicians and…
