Comment by Donald Harry Roberts on March 31, 2011 at 9:03pm I find all the above from Twitter to flickr to big for any one to notice anyone elses blogs etc. Who can sit down and serach through literally millions of postings that have no bounds in subject matter. At least here and other sites like it...if ther are any......people are all about writing, being writers and share our works and wares, talents, successes and...ouch the occassional not so successful moments.
Does this make any sense to any one but me?
Comment by scribbler on May 8, 2011 at 4:20am You can find similar people on Twitter by searching the subject, Donald. If you use the hash tag in front of any search, eg #writers, you'll find more targeted Tweets by users that have included that in their Tweet.
You can also build lists so say you wanted to find fiction writers, once you do via the search you can add them to a list that contains only fiction writers of your choosing. It's like setting up a personalized category and who's on it can be public or private. Then when you want to read what they have been saying, just click your list.
Comment by Peg Robarchek on August 7, 2011 at 8:51pm I've just begun to play around with Twitter, having been a FB fan for quite a while. Like scribbler, I've been roaming around doing subject searches and also following people who are suggested as "similar to" others I'm following. That's how I got here. Can't imagine the difficulty of getting from where I am (120 followers) to the thousands, or even 10s of thousands, some others have (I'm @coachpegr, if anyone is interested). But I am finding that my activity draws more activity to me. I try to post things clever, useful, challenging. I try to retweet a lot and I'm just now working up the courage to address tweets to folks I don't even know.
I need to try the Lists thing. So far, I can't even figure out how to comment when I retweet. But I'm making progress. And there are a TON of writers, reviewers, publishers, readers out there -- which means a lot of possibility for sharing my message in front of like-minded folks, while also benefitting from their messages.
I try to support the writers that are members of our site when I find them on the www. I give special attention to my friend members and then to my group members that have events, etc. So, I'll be following you. Tweet.
