What Sense can You Not Live Without?
what i wish to offer now, is to grant humans
the right to feel granted for what they have.
Im not speaking of the unnesscary tools of technology now
of tvs , phones, electricity, anything else that has been created in the past 100 years of life
and even beyond that.
with this discussion i wish to convey to those ignorant minds out the world.
wishing for us all to respect the simple senses we use daily.
imagine your world in darkness, where all u depend on is ur hearing.
the simple dazzaling colors of life itself is stripped from you.
where is your eyesight?
how would that be like? never to experience the simple vision of your loved ones??
what if, your trapped in your world of utter silence?
Not even being able to hear YOUR OWN voice?
Your reality is that of the muted?
so it goes for your other senses.
Never to smell anything of delicious value.
never to taste the luxaries of delicacy.
Or even having the sense of skin to skin contact?
Nothing your mind cant withstand.
But...what is it is your mind itself? at harm?
tell me, we ALL are writers, readers, people who depend on the skills of the mind.
how would it be like...
Without our imagination?
THAT is something I can not live without. I depend on it most.
I bet You all do. lol
We are all granted with simple skills of our own being.
our eyes, our nose, our hearing, our tastebuds, our sense of touch, our imagination, along with the power of our memories, our own voice., owning thoughts...
Of even having dreams. Think about it.
Which is your most powerful advantage in life.
and which can You not live without?

hmm....I love my entire being.
I respect the fact it is my body to control
that it is from MY will that i move a limb
I WOULD NOT BE ABLE LIVE WITHOUT my head. lol Literally.
The structure of the mind is something i cherish very much.
and if it wasnt my senses i wouldnt be able to do anything .
I am proud for what we are granted with. ;)

Out of them all I consider my eyesight the most precious sense of all. Not being able to see my child grow up into adulthood would be very hard. If I can see, I can still write and read. I think sight is the biggest advantage you can have, even beyond that of imagination. Good post!

Our senses connect us to the world, the loss of any one would result in some form of isolation. Mind without senses ought still to have a life, but how would it communicate? Imagination needs an outlet, and if I had only even one, I might be more grateful than I am for the full complement that's been my privilege.

I think the mind would be the worse thing to lose, as having a mother in the final stages of Alzheimers has really been an eye opener to me, as to the most precious things that we have in life. That is memories of our loved ones, family, and friends. To lose that has to be the worst kind of hell I could ever imagine. To lose yourself for that matter. To be looking out two eye sockets and not being able to remember how to speak, to lose all memory of your mate, your children, grandchildren, yourself, That to me would be literally a living nightmare you could not awaken from. Sight would be the second on my list, as you've mentioned. Not being able to look up at a starlit night with a beautiful full moon over head, God how sad that would be. I guess one would have the ability of having their senses strengthened, sense of smell, sound, taste, and touch, those would then become more precious then jewels to me I would think. Thanks Betty! As they say, healing comes from within. I really get depressed at times, but reflecting on these things I've mentioned has made me realize how precious life and every aspect of every waking moment of life truly is. Priceless, simply priceless. I had a good friend of mine recently put a gun to his head and pull the trigger. He leaves behind three beautiful kids, and a wife, and hundreds of friends. Why did he do it? What was so terrible in life that he chose death instead of living? No one among us really knows, other then the fact that he had found his wife had been having an affair behind his back. Can you even begin to imagine what his children are going through now, not to mention his wife. Rest in peace Jamie! I truly believe there are no suicides that go to hell. When someone reaches the stages in life where death looks better then life, they in my mind cannot possibly be held accountable for their actions. There fore comes the saying Christ paid our debts in full on Calvary. Nailed to that rugged old cross. "It is finished!" As Jesus Said.
