Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
Publishing a novel for the first time has been exciting and scary for me. It generates pride while at the same time it spits out gobs of self-doubt. When friends pull out pictures of their kids, I pull out a copy of my latest book promotion. Someone says, “You wrote a book! How cool!” but the minute I come down off the accolade high, I wonder if a little plastic surgery is in order to fix that nose of mine. It sure does show up big on my book’s author photo.
Hell’s bells!…

While driving the unmarked-company vehicle Steve dialed his fiancé’s number but she wasn’t picking-up. Listening to her voicemail’s tagline for the umpteenth time, the irked man waited for the beep and finally left a message.
“Barb, I’m pulling into your driveway. Our flight didn’t take off. I hope that your auto-answer is on because I don’t want to barge in and frighten you. I figured I’d give you a heads-up; I’m staying…

DIALOGUE WITH THE MOST HIGH
In the midst of the immeasurable expanse called the City of Light, seated upon a pure-gold throne, his hair white as snow, eyes glowing torches and the Deity’s electrified voice echoes into space cracking a whip giving salutation to the opening of the day. The Eternal Father, who makes all things new, powerfully vocalizes his intensity, releasing justified energy. Only the Holy Spirit heard God speak. Judgment was…

Where were they she thought, the voices, they were supposed to join me after breakfast. Something small flying about near the ceiling high above caught her eye, she’d not expected to see flies in a place like this. She fixed her gaze on it there was something strange about it, that shimmer... As it got bigger and came slowly closer Delia was horrified to see it was a frightened…

This is just a quick blog to say I am still here and haven't abandoned the community! It seems I have had some distractions during the last couple of months, beginning with NaNoWriMo 2012. I am happy to say I succeeded in that challenge and now have a cool new manuscript to edit and get published.
In other news, I am releasing the third Redcliffe novel very soon. It is currently in pre-production and there will be updates to follow. To celebrate this release, I have posted my…

I was sitting at my computer one evening about six years ago. I was home alone, Skip was driving long-distance. I heard the happy sounds of Tommy, his wife and the children. They knew to just unlatch the gate to come on in... just to be careful not to let the dogs out. I trusted them, knew they'd be very careful.. so, I sat there.

You know how you get when you haven’t had something in a while. You start thinking about it all the time. Wondering, how will I get that? When will I get that?

About a year ago, I put out a little story called A Vampire's Guide to Sex. It was my little poke at genre writing. I had my fill of those books/movies whose title references the setting sun. When I learned that the pop phenomena had glittering vampires, I could feel the heat of Bram Stoker spinning in his grave half way around the world.…

The Seance : Not Really Good, But Not Bad Either.
The Séance By Heather Graham
This is more of a random book thrown into mix. Like the reviews aren’t random enough. This one is a supernatural mystery called, “The Séance” by Heather Graham apparently is a New York Time best seller auditor, who seems to be unknown by myself and everyone I know. This one I grabbed out of a free box at a yard sale. It had water damage, a torn cover and smelled like perfume. But regardless of its…

It is finally here! After much speculation and lots of updates on the progress of my writing, I can finally announce the release of my second Redcliffe novel, Love Kills (A Redcliffe Novel). In this book we catch up with bookshop owner Jessica Stone as she recovers from a horrific werewolf attack. She now knows the truth about her vampire boyfriend and his identical twin werewolf brother. Her human best friend is still oblivious to the supernatural community in the seaside town of…

With the rise in popularity of eBook publishing, I am starting to notice that some authors don’t pay much attention to the book cover for their novels. Even if you publish an eBook and not a paperback version, I think it is still important to have a professional, attractive front cover as part of your promotional material.
I am still more inclined to look at a book based on the front cover even if I am browsing on my Kindle. There is something intriguing about cover art, when you can…

I am currently writing the third book in my Redcliffe novels paranormal romance series. Love Redeems (A Redcliffe Novel) concludes the story of how our protagonist Jessica Stone met and fell in love with a vampire, and subsequently discovered the truth about her friends and acquaintances in the fictional Cornish seaside town of Redcliffe. I originally only intended to write one book with this story, but it just sort of spiralled and took on a life of its own, so now here I…

About a week ago I woke up one morning feeling a mild sense of panic when I realised that once I finish editing Love Kills and send it off to the publisher, I will then need to start writing the third Redcliffe book. At the time it was only a vague idea in my head, sort of following on from the latest instalment that I just wrote. Determined not to be perturbed, I put the panic out of my mind and sent out a silent plea to my muse.
After lunch I finally dragged myself away…
