Mad, Angry, Annoyed Teenage Writer.....Oh That's Me

I am a 13 year old girl that is working her butt of trying to get the attention of any writing agents possible. Now hows that working out for me? Horrible. I have a full manuscript sitting on my desk looking for a home, but no one is willing to take it in. I need someone to open the door for I can walk in and start my writing career; is anyone willing to help me? Please? An agency that might want my work? Please it would mean everything to me. Thanks.

Have you ever been so full of ambition....

Have you ever felt so full of ambition, so right, so hopeful and 'bright'? It all started when I woke up this morning dazed and fogged. It took a gallon of coffee to get me to open my eyes enough to check my face book messages. To my utter surprise a long cherished relative had finally responded to my email.

Instantly I understood that at times feeling blue is not what reality is no matter what and how it feels So many things are in the works and are hidden from a normal everyday…

Digital short Saturday Diane Sherry Case Starving in Malibu

FYI: This post sets off a busy day here on The Scoop. I am going for four today as I have a backlog of posts on digital short stories. My problem of late has been I have enjoyed reading them way too much as I have been able to find a diversity of stories to read which I think fuels my desire to read even more. Starving in Malibu is a prime example of that. Dianne Sherry Case has written three things now that I have read: her full length novel Elephant Milk, Starving in Malibu, and one more…

Digital short Saturday Matt Williams Jak Phoenix

Check this out ,I got this right from the source, Matt Williams himself, who better to tell you about the story and his main character:

“ I started writing Jak Phoenix in September 2008, after beers with friends led to the inevitable conversations nerds have about movies, comics, space and how we always had ‘better ideas’ than the churned-out supply of Hollywood remakes and reboots.

‘Better ideas’ is a pretty subjective term, but after the 50th conversation about…

Digital short Saturday Cody Toye Dribbles The Squirrel Operation Coffee Deprivation

My Mother always told me: DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! That would be a big mistake here. The squirrel on the cover is cute and funny but the story inside is all too real and surreal at the same time. The story revolves around a poor guy that gets downsized after working at the same place for 25 years. Basically he is told one day that his services are no longer needed and he is shoved under the bus. Dribbles then comes into the picture as our now unemployed everyman has hatched a plan…

Digital short Saturday Robert Ford Fall of Grace Trestle Press Submission Contest Winner

I wanted to lead the day off with this one and today is big, four posts on four very different digital short stories. Robert Ford, Cody Toye, Matt Williams & Diane Sherry Case each bring something to the table. I am going a different route today with the posts, short sweet and to the point. Remember when it comes to downloading these stories there are plenty of free applications to make it easy to read these stories on just about any e-reader: smartphone, laptop, home computer, tablet,…

Have you ever been blue?

On the day that my first book was published Be Afraid of a Dentist, Be Afraid, my parents were diagnosed both with six months to live. I spent my celebration in the hospital fighting for their lives. Then, my brothers decided to separate my parents and put my mother in a home.

No amount of crying stopped her from going and as soon as she arrived there she understood what my brothers did to her. She had a fit. My brothers refused to take her back home. She stood there in the lobby…

Love

There are many forms of love that we all share and have amongst us. One is that of what you have passion for in what you do and hold nothing back in striving for it to attain. Two, the love you have for your gift of writing and creating stories to share with others that inspire and motivate. Three, the love you cherish in giving to someone special who is your all and one you devote your life to. And four, being the best at what you do and never giving up when the road seems long and dark. I… Continue
