Novel Evolution

Whether you’re a plotter or a pantser your story, from the moment you have an idea, your book will go through several evolutionary changes. Make note of those changes because they will help you in subsequent endeavors.

I’d like to discuss the evolutionary stages of my book, Beta, and perhaps looking at the process, you may find something to help you with your stories.

Beta was supposed to be the sequel. The first, Alpha, I wrote in the…

My decision on the third Book in the Bedrrom Wall Series

Hi all,

I thought long and hard on what my thrid title was going to be for the Bedroom Wall series. I took into consideration your comments. My co-author and I did alot of going back and forth changing our minds on this. In the end though we picked the one that we loved the best and one that fit the storyline the best. We designed both covers with both titles and after looking at both of them for a couple days we have dedided to go with our first concept. So with out further ado. The…

Inspiration

Without being inspired it's almost impossible to write a book, that's why I use anything I can to be inspired, but the number one thing that inspires me is Music, every time I hear I great song a movie starts to play in my head which is the idea of the story I want to write, sometimes my pet can inspire me too, but I think music does the most for me.

Is creativity a curse?

Being an author has its good and bad points. As a creator, when the words flow its an amazing feeling that you have invented new prose to entertain and help escapism to people who do not work at their dream job.

The down side to being creative is that you're constantly nagged by ideas, stories and characters.

More Than Pretty Wrappings

Opening a new book is like unwrapping a present on Christmas morning. You see a pretty dust cover over the formed cardboard like shell and you wonder what’s inside. Will it be a story to excite you or make you laugh? Will the hero be fearless and the bad guys extra evil?

Many times, the book ends up being the annual Father’s Day tie. Nothing special, same unexciting characters, standard plot with a few new twists. Once in awhile, however, you do get something shiny and fresh…

Different Strokes for Different Folks

I’m a morning person. Most days, as soon as I wake up, I’m alert and ready to start my day. After coffee, of course. That’s why I choose to write in the morning; I’m fresh and at my best. When I’m writing, whether it’s the first draft of a manuscript or a rewrite, I focus on that. I don’t even check my email or answer my phone until I’m satisfied that I’ve produced the day’s writing. It’s…

MY STORY...

I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother. When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a dancer. I was passionate, loving and full of life. But you would never believe that I was also a broken -down, self-loathing destructive girl. I hated God and the world. I did drugs, drank and had a baby at 18. You ask how you can be born with so much purpose, then become so much less? Well I’ll tell you... I was…

Memoirs Of An Invisible Man By H.F. Saint

I get my books from odd places. Garage sales, give a ways, bargain bins, and sometimes out of trash can at my friends house. (He has no tastes in books and often throw good ones away) I grab books that seem interesting, providing an new concept or have tons of potential. I prefer not to join the waves of current fans of big writers stalking their every move. I mean, these guys that no one hears of are sometimes better than JK Rowling, or Stephen King. Sometimes. This time around, the book is…

Playground for Evil - A Revamp Of A Classic That Keeps Its Charm

Playground for Evil By Broken Sea Productions

When I was really really little, I remember digging through my father’s old VHS tapes and ran across something called Kolchak. The dusty ancient tape, despite of its condition actually still played. And I found out it was this fantastic show about a investigative journalist who encounters monsters from the early seventies. And as old and dated as it was, it was a extremely fun show, that can still stand up to television today. But sadly it…
