Publishing nightmare

My first book was picked up last year and I had to agree to a few minor 'tweaks." My editor did a lot of critiquing but never in a constructive way. And when I told her I no longer recognized the story as my own she told me she only liked the concept and to have it in print I had to completely reconstruct the manuscript.

I did contact a few authors before pulling out from the deal because this…

Adult Truth #20

#20I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!”

I wish I could see this done more often.

A short story I wrote in 2009 titled "Kicked, Pushed" Inspired by rapper Lupe Fiasco's song "Kick Push"

Every time I kick I fall down, push I fall down

Excuse me but skating was something I never learned

But as the world turns I embrace it

With bruises across the face

And inerasable cuts, scrapes and burns

In turn, I give the world my all

Kick flip my flaws

By far

The harder they are

The bigger the fall

The stiffer they guard

The quicker they are

To fall short and get back up and do trick with the…

Around The Globe With Jack Soren

Harrys This week, I don't pick up my featured author, he gives me directions. I start out by transporting to Paris. Then I have to act as if I know how to effect a French accent to tell the cabbie an address (although I could be telling him I'd like to date his sister for all I know) - “sank roo doe noo”.

Fortunately, he doesn't drag me out of the vehicle and pummel me. Instead, in a few minutes I find…

The year is 3010, the human race divided; the new breed living inside the World Administration dome network and outside the older breed. A pandemic, broken out throughout the dome network by a corrosion in the citizens' wrist chips, is causing the planet to die. Whether the outbreak was accidental or intentional, either way the reptilian race stood to gain from such an…
