A Time Well Spent?

Have you ever looked carefully at the time you spend promoting your work? I'd always thought I had a good feel for this but recently I had a surprise.

On a one week break recently in a remote place (The English Lake District), I had to make some special arrangements to provide internet access so that I could continue promoting my thriller  'Take No More'. So, I bought and installed a 3G dongle, you know, one of those gizmos that slips into the USB slot on your laptop. It…

‘my cold dark corner’

‘my cold dark corner’ *screams*

By moi

There's a cold dark corner

in the back of my room,

it speaks to me

and says I'm coming for you.

As I lie on my bed

in the fetal position,

my eyes are closed

hoping and wishing.

Maybe that one day

my dreams will come true,

that I…

Michelle Vasquez Second Hand Bookstore

Hey, how is this Saturday treating you? Plenty going on here, not just on the blog, but The G-ZONE and Trestle Press. Check below for the many titles that were just released in the last 10 days. “Second Hand Bookstore” just happens to be one of them. This story is not just fun, but I am going to say a little bit of sunshine in your reading week. It is short, sweet(in a good way), and right on the mark. Michelle Vasquez is a very good blogger, an exceptional one I would say, and her…

"Meant To Be", Mark Miller from the "ONE" series

I have a few points to make in this post on not just this story but on this series Mark Miller has decided to call “ONE”. I applaud the man for laying himself out there. Basically to set the tone for this series, he has totally laid himself emotionally naked for us to ponder and reflect on our own experiences and dealings with loved ones. This series is not about telling anyone how to worship or live, not to get up on a podium and preach any type or reference any religion or thought process,…

Joan Meijer "The Rescue" The Author's Lab/Collaboration Series

Joan Meijer has an amazing depth and breadth of work; put her name in the Amazon Toolbar and watch it go crazy. She has written and will continue to write in a variety of genres and tackle difficult subjects. I had a ton of fun with her on this project; she is a great researcher and commands an amazing knowledge of what she writes about. This time she wanted to tackle something on First Responders. Joan puts in plenty of Firefighters, Police officers, and EMTs in our digital short story. She…

"BRAIN FILES" by Linda Page Wickens

Brain Files is my first attempt at fiction romance with suspense writing, so come along with me inside the mind of a woman I named Bridget Ann O'Flynn. New England born and raised in a working class factory family, people are attracted to her porcelain like features and loving personality. Everything is perfect, right? She always thought it was. Her dysfunctional parents raised her in a very strict Catholic setting under their thumbs.

Strict…

Andrew Gross Eyes Wide Open

If you haven’t read an Andrew Gross novel or just not gotten to this one yet, put it on your list of novels to read or get it in your hands a.s.a.p.; this novel rocks. It is a story that was actually based on real life circumstances of the author and he used it in ways that will have you gripped to the pages, whether they are virtual on the e-reader or just the plain paper. The way he was able to constantly ramp up the tension and move the story forward so quickly is just flat out fun and…

Daniels' Lot Mark Miller

I am really enjoying Mark Miller’s versatility as an author. True, I have worked with him on a collaboration, ”A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?”  part of The Author’s Lab/Collaboration Series,  read his Empyrical Tales novels, and also his first installment of his brand new series “One”, “Meant To Be”, which I will post on tomorrow . My point in dropping all these titles is simple: Mark Miller is a talented author who is covering a lot of territory and doing it well; it is almost as if he is…

The Fast Growing Reality of Electronic Books and Readers

What do have here? Obviously electronic books and readers are like the gates of hell opening up for the worldwide book publishers and printers.  For them, their world is rapidly shifting, and if they don't jump on the fast growing e-reader highway, their world is going to end.  Is this a bad thing? Hell no! Every year thirty million trees are used to produce books sold in just the United States. That's more than a thousand times the number of…

Tod Goldberg Burn Notice: The Bad Beat

I had the pleasure to interview Tod Goldberg yesterday on my blogtalk radio show The G-ZONE; he was a blast! I will put the link a little further below. Now that being said, I had finished the novel a little bit ago but wanted to wait until I got a chance to listen to him before I put this out. For those of us that have enjoyed this series of novels thus far, I want to say thanks to Tod Goldberg for 5 fun reads. Sadly “The Bad Beat” is his swan song as he moves on to other projects we can…

Volume one of the “Weird, Wicked and Wonderful” series has gotten off to a rousing start. Chantal Boudreau is a very talented author and this series is really going to showcase her skills and talents. “Weighing Fate” is a complex, tight and twisted yarn that is compelling from start to finish. The Club Feeling

Come to me

I can see you watching

stop the useless flirting

I know whats on your mind, its on mine too

I'm not asking for much, just satisfaction

Don't want a lasting relationship

just something quick

no emotions are needed

just you me and the moment

So stop with the quick glances and the shy smiles

just walk over and show me that we want the same thing.

Hahaha! XD

Robert Ford The Curse of The Translucent Monster

WARNING: This is not a kid’s book. Yes, the humor and wit is bent toward adults and this story is just flat out funny. Robert Ford has put together a tongue in cheek barnburner from the synopsis to the last page. He directed me to make a cover that represented a 1950’s old school flav to match his direction. If you have ever seen movies like “Airplane” with Leslie Nielsen, well you could picture him somewhere in here, which is the type of humor Robert Ford has gone after. In my estimation he…
