Ok, so I get a ton of book ideas.. a lot. And I can't stand not getting at least a start of it on paper. lol Anyway I'm thinking of a book, teen sleuth, he's got an interest in ghosts. The book starts when he's fifteen. Conner Carson has messy blond hair (with the occasional light brown streaks), blue eyes, even shoulders. I'll give you what I have so far, it's not a lot but it may give you the taste of his personality, the works. Give me honest comments of what you think please. =]

Conner stared at Jeremy's pet tarantula as it crawled to his friend's hand. "You sure you don't want to hold it?" Jeremy asked. "Look, you having a pet spider takes away some of it's creepiness, but I'm no where near holding it yet. thanks." Conner rolled off the side of Jeremy's bed and stood up. He sauntered over to the television and clicked up the volume. "You know there is a remote over here." Jeremy said. "Mm," Conner mumbled not wanting his excuse for leaving the bed to show.Conner sat down on the ground and leaned against the bed. Conner moved his shoulder as he felt some light weight on it. Conner turned and his eyes widened as Jeremy's spider crawled across his shoulder. "Get. It off." Conner said slowly as he shifted his shoulder. Jeremy started to move to the spider but it began to crawl down Conner's back. "Get it off!" Conner spun around quickly and then a small muffled noise thumped the ground. Conner turned to see his friend's spider beginning to get up and crawl. The spider ran under the bed, not that Conner could blame him. Jeremy looked up with a frown. "If I can't find Reggy your getting me a new spider."

Ok, not much. Not very exciting but tell me what you think! =]

Hey Conner!
My suggestions are simple ones: firstly; whenever you feel stuck, read. Secondly, write something every day. It can be as simple as a sentence or as complex as a paragraph or as magnificent as a chapter, but one must write to perfect the craft.
I also highly suggest that you might like to peruse the various manuals of style that are available at your local library. I certainly recommend the industry standard for us proofreader types: The Chicago Manual of Style.
Mind your ports and quarters and you will go far!
My best,
M.

Well, it's very humerous, but you mentioned that it's a mystery, and we need to know more about the mystery. I did love the part you wrote. I laughed so hard when Jeremy threatened that Conner needs to buy him a new spider! LOL! :) I can't wait to read the rest of it!
