Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

How many of you have multiple works in progress?  Are they all the same genre? How do you divide your time between them?

Currently, I have 4 WIP's.... sounds like alot huh?  Right now I am thinking that too!  As my second book just went back to my publisher for the formatting (after 13 hours of editing, my eyes are still crossed) I find myself looking at all the projects I have in the works.

One project is about half way through - but I had come up with a snag in the plot and I got frustrated so I put it on the back burner.  Recently, as I find myself mulling over the issue, I think I found the way to work through my snag... but.... There is a more recent project that I started that I was working hard on.  As soon as I figured out how to work through the other issue, I lost my train of thought on the new one.

Then there is the other book that I am working on with another author.  Now that one is a huge project that will be in the making for a long time, but we are throwing ideas back and forth and running plot ideas and twists back and forth.

Then there is book 3 of my series (the second book is about to be published).  After reading book 2 - and coming back to those characters I find myself running that plot hard and heavy in my mind.  Conversations and characters building....

I'm at a loss right now as to exactly what I should be working on.  I think I have so many things in the works that I am befuddled as to which one to go to next.

Anyone else get themselves in this situations?  How do you work through them?

Oh my gosh, last night I read Amy's happy feet comment and I thought that was the name of your book. After reading the synopsis, I thought what a strange name for such a book...

I hope it works :)))

Thank you, Robert! I hope it will be enjoyable for you and for all our friends and readers. Catherine will speak about her new, original fantasy book "Love Hurts" and this is the resumes of my two stories:

In "A Love In Time of War  first they faced the war… the love followed later. Peace was somewhere in between. One day he could have killed her on the other side of the front, on the next day he fell in love and what would happen in the day after it? All efforts to remain enemies appeared to be in vain. The borderline between their ability to hate or to love appeared a thin one. Differences abound in cultures, religions, languages, traditions and so on but a young Bulgarian girl and a Turkish officer met many more obstacles to overcome. Kidnapping her or escaping together provoking political scandal between the warring countries? His life had become like a Byron’s passionate poem and he entered in it madly and bravely. The war became past, the past became history and through the years only love is still alive in a very beautiful tale to remember.

In "The Last Secrets of The Ancient Island" series of mishaps in an old town casts suspicion on a number of residents. Provoking changes in an adopted practice of the underground world to put hands on the worthy relics, a young graduate of a university proves the last mysteries of ancient sights in the nearby Sicilian National Park are yet unexplored by historians and archaeologists. Facing professional adventure he comes along personal secret of his older brother, along whom appears an unknown driver, who has a tragic motivation to take his and another life. We were born alone, we die alone, but life is our chance to live in love. If we don’t lose the chance, if know why love is the most desired legend in our life.

Thank you Stacy, Robert!
I hope the others also would come and enjoy the event :)))

Blimey, I go offline for a couple of days and return to find total confusion! Ok, Stacy I am going to purchase your books when the paperbacks are available. I'm intrigued after our recent conversations. Borislava, I tried to join the group in preparation once I saw the correct link, but it's closed for maintenance so I will try again later.
Catherine - that is what you get for going offline - can you imagine what would happen if you went to that cave????
Ha ha ha, oh my goodness that would be carnage! It's taken me 3 hours just to go through my emails now, crazy! The poor dog needs walking and the baby's being neglected (not really, she's playing with her toys quite happily). Good news is I spent 2 hours writing this morning so I'm happy about that.

"Then there is the other book that I am working on with another author.  Now that one is a huge project that will be in the making for a long time, but we are throwing ideas back and forth and running plot ideas and twists back and forth."

I think you need to do something with the above project every day. Work out who will write what and the order. If it is a Autobiography then every thing has happened but I suspect it is fiction and you creating it as you go along. Correct or not? Are you aware of changes on a daily basis? Do you have a system for every submitted piece by you or you co writer? There are plenty of other issues but unless you work out a system you will continue to have your hands full.

I have four manuscripts which are finished. Of the four I'm keen to publish a novel first and then a long ballad of a poem. The plan is there and I'm not rushing. The other two project will follow later . I think it is useful to be single minded.

Best wishes
