Angel

I saw an angel.
I saw a dream born of desire.
I saw an angel that haunts me –
Each waking moment of life.

I saw an angel.
I saw hope and joy of living.
I held onto that hope,
Hoping a life of flowing milk and nectar.

I saw an angel,
That lingered in my mind.
It smiled and filled me with promises.
Oh! The joy of hope!

I saw an angel that passed me by!
I saw hope died -
The dream was lost and pain gained.
Oh! The pain of losing what you dream!

I saw the angel wiping away my tears.
I saw life fulfilled.
I saw an angel transform.
I saw life gone astray!

I dreamt of an angel.
I dreamt of a life of flowing milk and nectar!
I long to go back,
Long to start all over again!

Very bittersweet...portrayed by the spirit of an angel.
thanks for ur comment
We all need hope.  To redo something--make it right again.  It's lovely.
I trully enjoyed this poem, I think most people will be able to relate to it in one way or another, I think we all have something we regret and wished we could go back and do over, nicely captured
thanks all for your positive comments!
