Authors.com

Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Ijust got randomly curious. I found this website because I love to write and I hoped that I could find a website to help me with it. Of coarse this is author heaven and I would never accuse it of being unworthy of popularity, I was just wondering how others found this site. If a friend recommended it, then how did they find it? If you notice the facebook and twitter signs to the right, did you find an add for it on those sites?

Aww, thanks for the kind words. Until now I never knew how you found The Cuckleburr Times, Andrew LOL. :) I really liked Andrew's writing and showcased it on the site. It's over a year now since I published his first submission, Half Blood, and we've chatted occasionally ever since. His is one of only a handful to make it into the Don't Miss section out of over 400 articles. I just knew he'd like it here. :)

Well I was doing some writing, as usual, and I was on this website called Seventh Sanctum, which is a Generator Site that I use when I can't think of names for Characters. I was reading an article on the site about this other site The Cuckleburr Times. I decided I'd check it out, signed up and started posting some bits and pieces of my work onto it.
She emailed me, saying something about what I had posted, I don't remember exactly what she said, but we've been in touch over emails since. Then one day she sent me an email telling me about Authors.com so I decided I'd check it out and here I am... In a sense, she's like... an Editor and a Publisher to me, lol. Callie Leah said:
Cool! Did you guys meet online somewhere else, or do live by each other?

Kay, actually brought me here. She's been a great help to me and my writing that I didn't have to think twice about checking this place out. Thanks Kay!

Now that I think about it, I can't recall how I got here! I know so many people that are writers and/or involved in the writing world in some way. One of them must have pointed me in this direction. I like to surf the net and wander from place to place so much it's not easy for me to backtrack. I'm glad I bookmarked it when I did though. :)
And Julie, we're delighted that you did! I think fate lends a hand at times and takes us exactly where we should be. :) Was it any one thing you wanted help with or just general guidance on writing?

I was actually looking for a site that could help me too! I was just randomly typing in addresses and it brought me here!
Yeah, I just randomly came across it and I'm glad I did; otherwise I wouldn't be a part of this community either. And wow, Half-Blood is still on that Don't Miss section, that's pretty crazy.
