Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Hello, Authors.com,

I was invited here by the talented and charming Tracey Alley, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I am the author of one novel so far, but I'll be adding to that total very soon.

My current novel is MOST LIKELY, a young-adult coming-of-age novel that deals with the theme of pressure... pressure of all kinds... and how one young girl deals with it all. While it contains light Christian themes, it's not a heavy-handed religious tome. It's a novel. If you're interested in finding out more, check out my blog at: http://www.craig-hansen.com/most-likely/. Its available at all the usual locations.

My next novel, however, kicks off a series of novels that are of a different genre. They are young adult paranormal suspense, but the paranormal element is light, not something that overwhelms the series.

For example, in SHADA, which I plan to release in September, a group of four girls gather together for the last camping trip they'll ever take as friends... to conduct a seance.

Now, the seance is the only  paranormal element in this particular novel. Future installments will have a bit more, but beyond the seance, you're not going to find loads of sparkly vampire boyfriends, teen wolves and wiccan-lycan wars going on everywhere you turn.

The second novel in the series will be called EMBER. It's a longer novel that I hope to release in time for the holiday season this year. It focuses in on Ember Cole, who appears in SHADA. Ember's a girl who can start fires with her mind, but hasn't realized it yet.

Will she? Of course. But because this is light-touch paranormal, it's not the first conclusion she jumps to. Because the world Ember lives in is like ours; things like this are highly abnormal, not run of the mill.

I'd compare my approach to Stephen King, more than, say, Stephanie Meyer or Charlaine Harris. Strange things happen, but they're not common occurrences.

So that's what I'll be serving up the rest of this year. 2012 will bring 1-2 more installments in the Ember Cole series, and we'll see what else I have up my sleeve when the time draws close.

Hope this helps you get to know me a bit. Thanks for letting me check in!
