Introduction

Handy knows that people love their pets. In fact, a lot of people will go to enormous lengths to make sure their pet is welcome where they go. This has sparked many places to have pet-friendly policies. In the latest effort to get people to come to their cities, a lot of them have taken additional steps to ensure that people will move to their city. Something as simple as a dog park is not always what wins them over, but in other cases, it just might be. That being said, let’s take a look at some of the most pet-friendly cities around the world.

Tel Aviv, Israel

This makes complete sense considering there is one dog for every seventeen people in the city. That ranks the highest population of dogs, per capita, in the world. Needless to say, they have dozens of dog parks for their four-legged friends. Coming in at just about 70 parks, pet owners do not have any trouble finding a location to spend some quality time together.

Carmel, California

Many people know Carmel as a place to visit beautiful state parks, gorgeous hiking trails, and inviting beaches. What a lot of people don’t know is that it is the most pet-friendly place in California. Owners can bring their pets nearly everywhere in the city and the above-mentioned sightseeing locations. The hotels are even getting in on the action. One hotel has several services for dogs such as doggie turndown service, doggie room service menus, outdoor showers for dogs, and yappy hour.

Keswick, UK

If owners want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, they needn’t look any further than Keswick. The Lake District has many locations for owners and their pets to run, jump, and swim. It really is a doggie paradise. If you are feeling extra adventurous, you can even go hiking on the Skiddaw. It is the fourth largest mountain in the UK. Once you have got your fill of the outdoors, feel free to pop into any pub and bring your four-legged friend with you. Most pubs have doggie beds in them for your pet to rest while you tie one on.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Considering the legality of most everything in Amsterdam, it should not be surprising that they are welcoming to dogs as well. Dogs are welcome on all forms of public transportation so that you don’t have to spend a second of time away from your dog. Additionally, most offices allow dogs to come to work with their owner. One unique thing is that you will see that the rental bikes all equipped with a basket that is specifically designed for dogs.

Conclusion

Handy hopes that you take some of these cities into consideration if you are moving or even going away on a holiday. One of the biggest reasons that people don’t travel is due to the fact that pets are not welcome in most of the locations that they are going. Well, if you choose a city from the above list, that will not be a problem.
