Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I have been getting some questions lately about my Goodreads account: Why do some of the novels in your “currently reading” area stay there for so long? Pretty simple really: I don’t like to post on a novel until after I interview the author. I have been fortunate to have had on some great guests on my blogtalk show The G-ZONE, just incredible awesome people and interviews. I am fortunate that many of them have such a great time they want to return. I also am fortunate to make some new friends and have them on. This week is a great example of that.

Wait, why is it that I don’t want to post till after I interview them? I like to hear them discuss their work, yes, but I also enjoy hearing the passion they have for their craft, maybe there was a certain part in the novel they thought was a key turning point and I missed it. A hundred different reasons, but it is better to hear them first, post second; I have learned that. That was the main reason I started The G-ZONE, to give us the reader another touch point, another dimension to the author, their voice and the passion within it. I still remember the day I interviewed Paul Levine and then read his novel on my Kindle the next day; it was like he was narrating it for me, really fun. This week is a prime example of what I mean. I have a few novels on my Goodreads “currently reading” list by authors I am going to interview: Tod Goldberg, Andrew Gross, Mark Miller, and Dave Lieber. I just can’t wait!

If you are not a Goodreads or Twitter friend of mine yet, please become one, I would like to share with you what I am reading ,and see what you have going also. I love new novel recommendations. Here is the link for my blogtalk show The G-ZONE:   http://www.blogtalkradio.com/gelatisscoop
