Dimensions of Genesis - Prologue

In the stillness
A sentient being waits
A creator, an essence, a source...a god
An observer of manifestations and dreams

Dwelling outside the realms of space and time
It inhales the quintessence of life
With ancient patience
It waits to exhale

Waiting...
To inspire the breath of creation
To awaken the Wave that carries the seed
The seed of Genesis

Waiting...
For the genesis of a world
For the birth of a new age
A new dimension

The Wave will awaken
Carrying the gift of creation...or destruction
In the wake of the tides, life must choose
Evolution or demise

It is time

***

Kneeling before the council of shadows, the young girl wept. As she was forced to bow her translucent figure before the panel of Judges, she was commanded to choose. Placed before her were two images, a man and a girl, presumably the ones she loved most. Again the Judges ordered her to choose, which was to live and which was to die.
This was how the evil beings dominated their prey, they inspired guilt and fear, then feasted upon the wounded spirit.
David observed from his vantage point, hidden far from the prying eyes of the beasts. He watched helplessly as she struggled with the impossible decision to end the life of one and spare the other. David cringed as he watched the masses of shadowy serpents slither at her feet, undoubtedly hoping for the order to devour her.
'She is the one.' David thought to himself wistfully, 'She is the soul we need to save this world.' He desperately wanted to rush down there, into the valley of death and spare her of this sorrow. There was just too many of them. Hundreds...maybe thousands. The shadows would surely consume him before he could reach her.
'If only she would remember who she really is' David thought as he recalled the moment of his own awakening. It seemed so long ago, but the measure of time is unique in the fifth dimension. His mind wandered back to the moment this adventure began. Strangely, he wouldn't have changed a thing.
Raising his eyes to the heavens, David saw the sight he'd been dreading.
'It's here. We're too late.' He thought sadly as he saw the Wave of Genesis inching its way through earth's atmosphere. Though beautiful, he knew that it carried with it the power to consume an entire dimension. Earth's dimension.
Turning his attention to the scene below, he was puzzled to see the young girl now standing and approaching the sinister Judges. Her ragged white dress hung from her translucent shoulders as she raised her hand to touch the reflective surface of the bench at which the Judges sat.
Her face appeared transfixed as she touched her ghostly and haggard reflection. As she stared at her appearance, she suddenly smiled.
Again, the Judges' booming voices ordered her to choose between her loved ones. David winced as he felt their evil reverberate throughout the valley.
She just smiled at herself, seemingly unconcerned with their demands. Oblivious to the danger hurtling itself through space, awaiting her decision.
As the Wave descended upon the planet, promising the demise of a civilization, the young girl finally spoke.
David did not hear her decision over the roar of the oncoming cosmic Wave. There were only precious seconds left before it consumed a world.
Looking down over the valley, at the crowd of shadows, David witnessed chaos.
She had chosen.
