Introduction

If ever there was a great invention, Bottini feels that it was the .... There have been many changes in the hot water heaters from the past. For example, we are now able to use them with propane. Not only is this more cost efficient, but it is also more energy efficient. The amount of propane that you will use will cost less than the amount of electricity that you use. This will allow you to have more money in your bank account at the end of the month. However, we are not here to convince you to get a propane-powered hot water heater, we are here to tell you how they work.

How They Work

There is not much difference in the way that propane-powered hot water heaters work and electric hot water heaters work. The way they work is by heating water and storing it for future use. When you are using electricity, the electrical current heats the water. When you are using propane, the propane heats the water. That is the long and short of the matter. However, if you want to know more about it, continue reading.

You hot water heater stores water from the main water line. It is then time for it to be heated. The thermostat that is in the unit will tell the unit how hot it needs to make the water. It then requests the heat source, in our case propane, to heat the water. The propane is ignited much in the same way you ignite your stove. The heat is then funneled through tubes that are placed in the water. Those tubes get hot and heat the water. It is not very complicated, but there are a number of things that can go wrong. We will write an article about that at a later date.

Consistent Use

Just remember that when you are using the unit, there will be less hot water in it. That is not a problem since when the tank drops below a certain level, it automatically replenishes itself. You will likely feel a change in the temperature, but it will not be enough to be any less effective. Once you have depleted the hot water, you are going to have to wait a certain amount of time for the water to be hot again. This will depend on the unit that you have and just how much water that it can hold. It is good to make sure that you are consistently using it to make sure that the water does not go bad in the unit.

Conclusion

Bottini hopes that the above article has helped you to better understand your hot water heater and how it works. If you are in need of more information, please do not hesitate to give us a call or drop by our office. One of our technicians will be more than happy to give you further details. We will also be able to recommend a model that is just right for your family’s needs.
