All the ancient myths talk of Angels descending from heaven, spreading knowledge throughout the world and protecting people from the evil. Wait a second… What? Protecting the people from the evil? Now, don’t you think it’s a bit confusing? If God, who is capable of knowing the past, present and the future and without whose knowledge even a leaf wouldn’t dare to fly, created everything in this world, where did the evil come from? And what was this evil that the God was trying to protect us from?

Does this mean that there are certain things which are out of control of God? Or does it mean that the evil too was a creation of God? Allow me to rephrase my last question: Was the evil a ‘mistake’ in God’s creation? But how can God make a mistake unless he is a physical being? If we are to believe that evil was also one of God’s creations; Why? Did he create it to enjoy his supremacy? If you say that the Evil is a part of God’s creation, aren’t you indirectly calling the divine entity a sadist who loves to enjoy his preeminence? Both ways it doesn’t make any sense.

If we go through some of the mythical texts, we can observe that there are areas where emotional clashes of the so called Gods and their failures in decision making on some aspects are narrated which gives them an image of physical beings. But on this we often tend to keep a blind eye. These superior beings or the so called Gods (whom I call teachers), are not magical beings who sit somewhere in the sky and keep record of what we do and what we don’t and are mere humanoid in nature (the origin of whom is still a mystery).

Based on the modern discoveries and translations of the ancient scriptures done by the modern day researchers, one thing is evident that there is a fully fledged organization somewhere out there watching and scheming our way of life; or at least was. You can see indication of their presence in every era, coming to Earth in one or the other form at different parts of the world to remind us of who we are, give us the knowledge of leading a fruitful life and bring us back to the path of devotion and worship. Whatever might be their reason, we are no one to judge ‘them’ because they are the ones who created us; they are the ones who taught us; and they are the ones who guide us through the right path even today – ‘The Divine community’. Bhagavath Gita, Ten Commandments, Holy Bible and Qur’an are a few sources of their guidelines.

But what are we doing? Each and every time they came, we built a new religion and fought for it. Every time they tried to help us, we turned it in to a disaster because of our imprudence or lack of wisdom. Are we so blind that we are unable to see the similarities in their teachings? The only diversity that we can see in various mythologies is the cultural differences and the language. Other than that, it’s all the same. We are more focused on our teachers that we forget about their teachings. The fact is that we fight for different Gods but never have the time to listen to them or understand them. Take some time and focus on their teachings for a change and see how we can make this world a better place to live.
