Very proud of this most recent accomplishment!  Really feel like I have reached the turning point with this, my first novel.  Does it sound insane to say that I was mad at my main character for the past couple of weeks?  It was like I needed to take a break away from her to analyze her thoughts and decisions and figure out her next course of action.  Even though I already know where I wanted to take her and the story.  I guess it might be a good thing to get caught up with them.  I feel like…

I'm excited to have reached the 10,000 word mark on my first novel.  I know that might not be a lot for those of you with experience but I'm feeling very accomplished this morning!!  

p.s.  I continue to really enjoy this site and so pleased I joined.  You are one inspirational group!!!

As a new writer I'm finding that I need to take a break from time to time and let my brain catch up to my story.  Then all of a sudden in the middle of the night an idea will hit me of how to pick up where I left off and my story continues...is this normal?  I also find I keep going back and re-reading and re-writing what I've already written...Have you found this approach works for you or am I making more work for myself when I'll probably need my work professionally edited anyway?
