Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Every story in the Dead Bells anthology will have one protagonist who wakes up the morning of January 1st, 2010 to find everyone dead. Just – dead. Animals and plant life survive. The bodies don't rot, but just dry up, mummify, if you will. No explanation will be given, although each writer is free to speculate as to how this may have happened.
Within days, there will be no running water, no electricity, no phones, no internet. The protag will be completely, utterly alone.

Or is s/he?

Read the guidelines thoroughly! Short stories are wanted, not poetry. Closing date is October 15 but ALWAYS double check as guidelines can change.

Word count is a strict 4k maximum. No minimum. I may be flexible on max, but query first.

Repeat, 4000 words maximum. If chosen for publication you'll get paid plus also get a copy of the printed book. They want it to be ready to go to the printer by November 15th so you won't have long to wait.

Submission is via email. Remember, always follow instructions to the letter as to the format.

Read the full submission details here.

Good luck! :)

You're welcome Vivi! Did you enter this? I hope you did. :)

Andrew, I'm sorry you didn't catch that in time. That's a bummer. I've done that myself before too.
