I'm entering "Legends of the Lake' in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest. Here's my pitch--Any comments?

Family vacation…visions of camp grounds, roller coasters, and long drives through the darkness of night may come to mind. All of us at one time or another have spent time together as a family, whether you want to admit it or not.

Tales of Al Capone, cigar bars, food trends and Chicago Cub...s baseball lore—all told at a special cottage tucked away in southern Wisconsin. Visit the place where four generations of one family spent summer vacations for over seventy years. Where one young boy learns the meaning of life taught to him by his great-grandparents, Gramps and Nana, and others after the divorce of his parents.

Legends or lore? Truth or fiction? “Legends of the Lake” is a 69,447 word ‘real-life’ fiction novel. Sharing snippets of actual events which took place at a family cottage and weaving them into a fictional story is what makes “Legends of the Lake” so special.

Whether you’re a 13 year old teenager or a 75 year old grandmother, the sentiments Gramps, the main character’s great-grandfather, expresses will echo within you when he says, “What a beautiful way for it to end, but I wish it could go on forever.”
