One of the things I find hard to track down online is a good thesaurus. I find most are far too dry to suit my needs.

This is one that I like and use often. Please share your own favorites! I used the word "writing" as an example.

For language that's on the more ornate and flamboyant side Roget's 1911 Thesaurus is online, thanks to the ARTFL Project. Modern terms won't be there obviously. I find that to be a good thing! I always use the headwords search first.
