Hello everyone. I write Science Fiction Romance and a bit of Poetry. I just self published my first book on Kindle and am finishing the second book in the series. What advice can you all give me?

Hello Daria, well done on publishing your book and your writing, may I ask what made you decide to self publish??? I only ask because I have been asked to do the same, but I am not sure about it at all, anyway I hope it goes well for you,

Hello Bryan, and welcome, I am new too, I wish you every success with your writing,

Well, Donna, I was honestly concerned myself. But some of my peers and mentors have already done it and were very pleased with the results, so I gave it a try. One of said friends has published to paperback several times. She discovered it could be quite costly and has since turned to digital as well. If you use kindle, the process is quite easy and explained in detail every step of the way. You are able to go through the entire process and dave a draft without ever completely sending out you work. Just in case you change your mind. I love it.

Hi!  I'm new, too.  And though I write mysteries, suspense, historical, women's fiction, and now a Regency romance, all my fiction has a twist! It's my signature characteristic.  After 11 traditionally pubbed books, I Just released my first self-pubbed book, convinced by my husband who has an awesome blog on self-pubbing and contract negotiation called http://thepassivevoice.com.

Hello Bryan. POD is merely a form of delivery. It means no warehouse storage. I'm assuming your question is really about self-publishing rather than going the traditional way. Currently your options are way open for you. Freelance editors abound and publishing your work is well within your reach. The stigma of self-publishing = poor writing is becoming less of an issue. Also many writers and agencies are starting to take up publishing as well. I've managed to hook up with an up-and-coming publishing company and I hope to ride his enthusiasm to the top with my trilogy.
