Hi Kay, I actually have a book that has been recently published. It is titled The Winter of My Repose. I was published with www.publishamerica.com. My book deals with my battle with brain cancer and is intermingled with events that led up to my illness. But I am a survivor and I wanted to give the message that there is hope. I am working on another fiction story and would love to share it with you, but this comment area won't allow too many words. Let me know if you want to communicate with me. I could give you my email address if you would like. Hope to hear from you. By the way. I keep trying to get my picture on this site but every time I upload the picture nothing happens. Any suggestions.
Nice to meet you Linda. Welcome to Authors.com. :) I look forward to reading what you share with us. Every member has a blog here too, Linda. You could add it there or on the forum.
Just go to the top of the page where it says Blogs. Click that and you'll see My Blogs. All your blog posts would go there. Yours won't show anything yet because you've not done one. To make a new post, just go to Add a Blog Post on the right of that same page. You'll have plenty of space to post it there. :)
Sorry, forget the second thing you mentioned. On the picture, is it possible your pic is too big or the wrong format, Linda? Under the Profile box where you upload it it says "Upload a Photo (GIF, JPG or PNG; limit 10MB)". Check and see if it's perhaps the wrong file type or too big.
If you still have problems, scroll down to the very bottom of this page. On the black bar it says Report An Issue. Fill that form in and they'll get back to you. The support's very good. Hope you don't mind me barging my way in there and butting into the conversation! :)
Linda: So good to have you on Authors. It appears that unless you are well known you will not receive much response from your first book, no matter how popular the message may be , no matter how well written, etc. If people haven't heard of you, then it's hard to get readers to buy your book. Having a book signing at your church, grocery store, or other functions where you are a member or well known, may be your best means of receiving any profit. I have a book on the market thru Outskirts Press. One method to get started with receiving sales is to write a book release ( a viewpoint discussing your book's message) and a copy of your book sent out to different book & magazine entities. I have a slew of names & addresses I can provide, though I haven't gotten started yet, myself. Giving your book to others is another way to become well known. And you will be blessed in return for years to come. That's my main goal.
it is so nice to have you here, and nice to read a little bit about you and your book. I am an Author of self-help guide books, and I am writing my forth book now on Health and was wondering if you would like to share your inspiring story of survival in my book, something that will benefit and inspire my readers. if you do then I can direct my readers to your book. please let me know if you are interested.
It was so nice to hear back from you. and what I am looking for is how you got Cancer,(and what kind) what you went through, and how you survived. what ever you write up, or what you may want to share from your book, I will put it into the proper chapter. I will then encourage my readers to look for your book(where ever they can find it). also does your sister now have the same cancer as you, and how long does she have? I might be able to share her story in my last book.
let me know what you think, and if this is something you want to do. all my books are geared more to the L.D.S faith but can be read and inspired by any one.
your so cute, you don't have to ever worry about bothering me, I always love to hear from you, and yes it would be easier to just send what ever you would like through my e-mail ( Brerl754@alpine.k12.ut.us ) and thanks you so much for sharing your story and experience, I was wondering do you think your story would better fit with my book on " marriage " or my book on" Christ " please write me at my e-mail and I will give you and example that way I don't have to share things here.
Please get back with me
Lisa
