I know im not that great of a writer but, i am a very emotional person and when i go through somethin, which always seems to happen, i let my emotions run out when i write. It helps me feel better.

Hello All!

I have delved into some poetry through the years and love it!
I want to tell you that I am working on publishing a collection that will involve several different writers.
It is a Christian collection that we are calling, "The Gospel according to Poets" and will be verse, as you might have guessed, that focuses on Jesus Christ and the "Good News".
If you would think you might be interested and would like to participate please let me know. I am hoping to put this together and have it out the first of next year.
I intend to publish this using Create Space and will give you royalty based on the number of your submissions we use as well as provide you with several free printed copies. All that is in the works, as details are being stamped out.
Thank you very much!

I'm an author and recently wrote some poems and plan to publish in 2013. One of my poems is about, the "cry" of an unborn baby whom the mother is planning to abort.  I would like to communicate with Poets, I'm new in this field.

Nice to make your acquaintance Doreen.  Your topic is quite interesting.  You might want to share your poems with members of the poetry group so they can comment on them.  That way you know whether they are ready for publication or you need to polish them.  One of my favorite books is CS Lewis' "Screwtape Letters?"  Its about mind conditioning.  I'd love to review the cry of the unborn baby.

I like to write rhyming poem and poetry and most of writings are non-fiction.

A Poem Of Movement

They all want answers

and they all want to know how to live,

or at least they should,

so sometimes they look to

people who are on the move,

yes, those people

and their creations

are the people of movement

And as Joseph

once long ago

had a coat of many colors,

so do I, today

have a poem of many topics

And while his

multi-colored coat kept him warm

so does my multi-faceted writing

show me all that is

and all that should be

And it’s a poem of movement

offered for God’s sake

mostly about war’s futility

and the passage of time

Eras pass,

technologies change,

but who can deny

that long ago

many already knew

what would befall us here today

And many knew already then

about “agenda manipulators” and

“situation spinners”

Yes, even then

they already said:

Off in ephemeral dynasties

past transient hatred quests

lie winless fields

dead swords and shields

millenniums at rest

And who knows what gallants

fought there,

what valiants for victories bled,

what gains were wrought,

and at what cost

were lessons taught

to those by war distraught

No, I don’t know those answers,

yet I know time leaves war

and its effects behind,

as it likewise

leaves in its wake

all other human undertakings

Thus today,

in a world of alteration

say a prayer for moderation

and say a prayer for

natural process

And then offer

yet another entreaty

for an end to war

and violence

as time and changes

continue to pass and unify
