I do mostly shoot 'em ups personally. However, I'm a bit of an expert on children's books. I've helped edit and layout a few of them, and reviewed ... I don't know how many. Got three to review now. Christian books can be an easy sell, or the toughest, depending on what it's about and your marketing strategy. I probably won't be on here much. Feel free to contact me direct at tootall1121@yahoo.com or gmail.com At this point, since I work as an editor as well, I'm generally not looking for advice on writing these days. Back about ten years ago, I could use all the help I could get. Two print books, thirty some ebooks of my own, and I don't know how many I've edited for other writers, I think I've pretty much got it down, at least in my preferred genre and style.
I know about the grief. My wife of 28 years died suddenly last April. I went through some very tough times for a while, and still have my odd tearful moments. However, an online friend that up until that point I didn't know all that well, made herself available by phone and net, and now lives with me since her business went under. It's turned from a relationship of mutual need, to quite a loving relationship. She's a huge help to me, and very understanding of my grief. No, I'm by no means over it, and probably never will be completely, but having her with me sure helps. It was especially helpful through the holidays.
Hi David! Great to have you here and a warm welcome to Authors.com. :) Would you mind stopping by this thread and telling us please how you found your way to Authors.com? We’d like that. :)
Oh, if you need help with your writing, I am a professional editor, and will critique snippets of your work for free, now and then. Maybe if you know some would be writers in need of an editor, you can send them my way.
