Angela, welcome aboard authors.com …from The Chuck! I write sci-fi novels filled with adventure, mystery, romance, drama, horror, and comedy… Sci-fi for every human to enjoy. I'm also a published poet. When you have a few free moments, please check out my Authors page and a few of my videos and blogs I have recently added. Many of my blogs consist of free to read enjoyable sci-fi stories I plan to unite within a book titled: 'Epic Marvels. My newest sci-fi novel: 'They!', which is somewhat related to the 1954 sci-fi classic movie, 'Them!'.
It's so nice to meet a fellow author to share, uplift, and support one another on our journey of writing and especially the marketing. I love to write too, but I never imagined what takes place afterwards. The marketing is much, much harder than the writing, but it's necessary to get the word out about our books.
I would love to know more about your book. The title sounds like it could be non-fiction.
Have you tried making a short video and putting on youtube? Great way for exposure. Regarding my award; a fellow author on facebook posted a link to the website in November. There was $10.00 submission fee, but I took the chance and submitted. Lo and behold, I won in the self-help category! They have closed the contest for this year, but may run it again for 2012. Here is the link; http://www.womenwhowin.us/book-awards.htm
Here are some other places you might want to consider for book exposure; whynotad, facebook, authorsden, shelfari, goodreads, Linkedin, google+, google blogger, and twitter. You can find me on all of these sites, but there may be more that I don't know about. So, hang in there and if you ever need encouragement I guess this is the place to be. Best wishes for a successsful new year. Kathy
Thanks for the Friend invite--really appreciate it. I think I need to make stopping by this site more often as one of my New Year's resolutions!
I belong to ACFW and write contemporary relational fiction--stories about troubled families & other relationships & how God's love shines bright to guide people through.

Thanks for the friend request. I've been around here for quite a few years now... I think! It seems an awfully long time ago anyway! You are very welcome here, everyone is helpful and friendly :-)
Hi Angela! Great to have you here and a warm welcome to Authors.com. :) It’s a very friendly community. We’d love it if you could drop by this thread please and tell us how you discovered Authors.com. :)
Thank you everyone for the friend accepts and invites. Everyone here is so friendly. Sorry I have not responded sooner, but life has been extremely busy. I have been invited to write an advice column as well as a monthly article for a local news paper. We are working on it's syndication too. Furthermore, I have been offered an opportunity to air my TV show here in my home town. The show will also be streaming on the internet, so anyone anywhere will be able to view it. It is all pretty overwhelming. Thanks again. God Bless, Angela Bertone
Hello Sandi, I am so sorry for not responding to you sooner, but I have been working out of state since May 1st and I just arrived home. I work catastrophe and I usually am home every 3-5 weeks. This year was unusual as I was gone for 5 months. To answer your question, I am back and working on the advice column, but the invite from a local news station has dropped out of site for no reason. I will continue to post my column in my newsletter and I will be sending out the next newsletter this week. If you are interested please go to my website and send me a question or sign up for the newsletter and you can read others questions. Thanks for your inquiry and your understanding.

Hi Angela. So nice to hear from you. I guess another way of describing my writing is that it's mainstream fiction for the Christian market.
I wonder why you had trouble with the blog. Here's the link again:
