Hi Guys,

I never realised how much you need to know these days as far as technology goes. don't get me wrong i know how to use the internet and a laptop, but all this blogging and forums has me so confused. I feel a bit silly as I am twenty eight and suppose to be up on all this technology but there is so many different type of things. thought i was great creating my own website and then discovered this was not enough. So opened a Twitter account (not exactly sure how the thing even works) and now a facebook page not a clue how to add friends or anything. O the joys. well that's a load off my chest. Thanks for listening.

Hey, I know what you're feeling. It's frustrating and everyone seems to know what they're doing. I've been really going at the technology thing now for a few months and it's starting to get pleasant. I still can't stand twitter though. I think that's because of the youth and the lack of serious depth.

We've all been there. I have been registered on Twitter since 2009 but have only really begun to use it properly during the last six months as I stumbled around figuring out how to promote my work. I consider myself pretty well informed now, so ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Facebook seems to take you along with it, so I'm sure you'll be fine!

What is your Twitter name? Mine is Spookymrsgreen. If you add me it might be easier to show you around, so to speak.

Are you aware of the hash-tags that people use? Basically, if you tweet a message and you want to attract the attention of certain people, you can hash-tag key words which will then show up in searches. For example, you could tweet "Hello friends, #sharethelove4authors" and then if you clicked on the phrase with the hash-tag, it will show  up a list of recent tweets by people who used the same link. Then you can find more people to follow and who will probably follow you in return.

Your tweets will show up on the news feed of anyone that follows you, and in turn their followers may find you and that is how you grow your audience and profile. Make sure you have a profile picture and a decent description, otherwise people will generally ignore you.
