Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Just trying to link up with some interesting people and get to learn a bit more about how to be a better writer. I've finished my first book, it's a romance story set in south Africa, it's an interesting read but i hope i can find an agent who thinks so too...

Well, Ima, definitely wishing you the best of luck on the agent part; heard they hard to come by - especially first time authors. My first book came out in March (Lord, My Lord), working on second (almost done) and am looking to just self publish.

Good luck with your book Ima! Exciting times indeed. Be sure to check out the Publishing section in Groups for help with that. I posted about an article on how to run a submission campaign.

I spent a couple of years in Durban growing up. Is it set anywhere near there?

Hello Kay,
thank you so much for your messages, i really appreciate them and its really nice meeting you. i have read your articles and you are really an asset and blessing to this forum.
Wonderful to know that you lived in Durban, never been there but with the internet and research, i think i "know" it like the back of my hand. the novel, i titled it "Woman Enough", is set primarily in Pretoria but one of my main character lived in Durban. i was actually looking for an African country that was multi-racial and south Africa was just perfect.

I will get to read your other articles, i know they will be very insightful and i will definately keep in touch!!!
