I was asked why young black men are failing and this is my partial reply (Repost of a Note from my Facebook page)

I am reading a book called "Why Boys Fail" and it is actually clearing up some questions I have had for a while. Since I have had experiences with the special education population in various school districts and cities, I am now aware of a trend. Boys make up the majority. And in black neighborhoods this is worst. Now I do believe there are multiple factors and various stakeholders, such as parents, teachers, administrators, government, principals, and the…

Justice is Not Equal, It is only Fair

After taking a hard look at the facts surrounding the recent jury verdict, I can see how it is possible to come to a decision of "not guilty". We may be looking at the case and for that matter all cases, from the wrong perspective.

It is plain to see that based on…

Vehicular Assault in Kelowna B.C.

I was almost run down by a pickup truck in the parking lot of our local grocery store. I don’t mean that I walked in front of a truck or they didn’t see me coming. I’m talking about a woman who got behind the wheel, checked where I was in the mirror and gunned her engine at me. She only stopped after the corner of her truck had hit my chest hard enough to bump me back a few feet.

This is a true story. Let me explain.

My wife and I were shopping for groceries. When we walked…

Iam proud to introduce my new novel "Dying Innocence" coming to book stores in April of 2011. I have decided to donate a good deal of the royalties to The Innocence Project in tribute to those who have lost their lives having been convicted of crimes they didnt commit. Dying Innocence is the story of an innocent man convicted of a horrific crime before DNA was used in criminal trials. Again,…

Press release used for work newsletter

I work for a company that does sales and marketing for Costco Wholesale. My parent company is Daymon Worldwide, another giant marketing company. May is the month which Coscto raises funds for The Chidlren's Miracle Network, also the charity I donate part of my profits to. This was the press release that was printed in all of our April newsletters. So far, it has helped me sell 150 more copies of "Sensitivity 101 for the Heterosexual Male...Lessons Learned from the Fairer Sex." Hoping it will…

Regarding Showing vs. Telling

I mentioned in my first post for Authors.com that by far the most hits I received during the past year were for articles I had written that pertained to finding a book agent. But there also was substantial interest in what I wrote regarding Showing versus Telling, so I have combined two articles for this post.

Also, if anyone has any comments on anything I post, please let me know. I have wide shoulders, and if you don't agree or understand where I'm coming from, please tell me. And… Continue

Sensitivity 101 for the Heterosexual Male

Avaiable at Amazon.com

This is one of those books where, in my opinion, the title does not adequately portray the content. Primary reason: Sensitivity 101 for the Heterosexual Male by Philip Nork is not just for males, or even for just heterosexual individuals. This book can be enjoyed by anyone who has an interest in understanding his or her sexual… Continue

Bleh!

Alright, well my Profile was accepted so I can get started putting up some content, not that I've got anything to share really. All of my previous work is already uploaded on my other Website over on FreeWebs. So I figured while I've got nothing of my own work to really share that I'll just do a little blog to keep anyone who's interested updated with what's going on with me. Unfortunately that may or may not work out all too well as there's hardly anything going on with me, but in the future… Continue
