RELATED TO ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI

It is true that I am a relative of Thomas Jefferson which causes a great deal of pride but lately, I have been considering the possibility that I may have another relation of more ancient descent and more holy. This thought is not something which occurred to me suddenly. Considering the events over the past twenty-five years, the randomness of this assumption is most unlikely.…

Texting while on the sales floor - an excerpt from 'Who's Minding the Store?'

When he got to the store, Derrick took his time walking the sales floor, doing his best to remain unnoticed. He wanted to see how the associates behaved in the absence of the store manager.

The first group of associates he saw were less than impressive.

Florence and Tiffany were cashiers, standing at their registers texting on their cell phones, instead of focusing on the customers waiting to make a purchase.

There was a company SOP, forbidding the use of personal cell…

Good Karma is alive and well!

Now this is a way to start your day!

I'm helping a couple who say they've been shopping for a new range. After visiting three competitors they were still on the fence over which brand to purchase.

"The reviews I've read online are very negative about many brands I thought would be good for our kitchen remodel," the husband said.

I explained how I didn't take to heart online reviews because I'm familiar with the fact that competitors will create phony reviews to trash the…

Book release for 'Who's Minding the Store?'

I announced on Monday the release of 'Who's Minding the Store?' It's my 2nd published book and I'm particularly proud of this work because it's something many of us live. Here's a review by Jeff Edwards, author of The Seventh Angel'.

"Imagine the sexy hilarity of Richard Hooker's M*A*S*H, the complex political intrigue of a classic Russian novel, and the sheer wackiness of the British sitcom ARE YOU BEING SERVED? Now, imagine that all of this high-octane…

Me and the G-Man

I have known Giovanni Gelati for quite some time. He's interviewed me more than once on The G-Zone BlogTalkRadio Show. We've written together (A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?). Our latest collaboration is The Defective Amish Detective - Volume 1 - The Whoopie Pie Affair. It is a humorous story, that one might call a cozy mystery. Both of us had the goal of telling a fun story, while holding the Amish with utmost respect. With the "defects" of our main character,…

Return of Ron

Ron Ungary is a man of routine. He typically does not have time to slow down and explain things to those around him that only use 10% of their brain. When his life is interrupted, anything can happen.

I have to say, I'm excited about the new cover.…

Like what you see?

I wake up, at no particular set time, and make my way to the bathroom for the morning (or maybe early afternoon) duties.

I look in the mirror, steamed over from a skin-reddening hot shower. Like any of us, I sometimes ask, "Do I like what I see?"

"Sure." The answer is usually, "Sure, I'm fine with that." Most of the time, the thoughts do not travel much beyond that point.

Today, they did. Today, the wet smear of my handprint revealed a face I did not recognize in that dubious…

Regarding Gelati

No, it's not a delicious frozen treat for when you settle in with a good book.

I'm talking about Giovanni Gelati. Maybe you've heard of him? Trestle Press front man, anchor of the Author's Lab collaboration series, social media and internet marketing whiz. I wrote "A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?" with the guy. Yeah, that's him.
