Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
Geek to Author is exactly what it means, a career Geek (me) taking a journey to being an Author, a writer, a creator of something meaningful that will last. There are many sites out there on the Internet on how to take charge, make yourself marketable, how to generate traffic to your blog(s), but rarely do you find anyone that details these words of wisdom in actual practice outside those advise sites.
Geek to Author is going to do that. Document what I do, what I…

OK, the title of this post is perhaps a little silly and I am stating the obvious. There cannot be a writer out there who does not love books, but I am open to comments if you can prove me wrong. Anyway, my point is that I love books. I have always loved books. As a child, my mother taught me to read, and would take me to our local library every Saturday morning. I would step into that small one storey building full of excitement and happiness, and spend a few hours searching the shelves in…

About a week ago I woke up one morning feeling a mild sense of panic when I realised that once I finish editing Love Kills and send it off to the publisher, I will then need to start writing the third Redcliffe book. At the time it was only a vague idea in my head, sort of following on from the latest instalment that I just wrote. Determined not to be perturbed, I put the panic out of my mind and sent out a silent plea to my muse.
After lunch I finally dragged myself away…

The T.P.L Publications came about from and idea that CEO's Fiordaliza Charles and Charron Monaye agreed to back in 2010, that would enable them to help to create poetry anthologies, that will aide to showcase 20 poets worldwide; one book at a time.
Since that idea, they have not only provide an open platform to over 50 poets and writers worldwide but, they have also managed to provide an open platform to many individuals as they gain the recognition that they truly deserve for…

I have just finished writing an intense cliffhanger of an ending to my second Redcliffe novel Love Kills. It was amazing! Having finished editing a separate manuscript, I was thinking about what needed to be done on my current WIP. I had written the first draft of Love Kills, but was unhappy with the way I had finished it. There had to be more.
Well it seems that my muse agreed, and all day today, while doing my menial household chores, the story has unfolded…

It has been a very merry Christmas in the Green household this year. We celebrated my daughter’s first Christmas, and she was thoroughly spoiled by the whole family. In fact, we had to open her presents in three different houses! I do love having a large and close-knit family. We may not live so close to each other any more, but we certainly make the most of the holidays.
Anyway, my wish was for some money…

November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo to everybody involved or aware of it. This is an international competition, which has no prizes and no entry fees. Participants are simply expected to write a novel with a word total of 50,000 during the month. It is a wonderfully simple way of motivating yourself to finally write that story that has been festering in your head for all these months or years.
I have entered this competition. Having published my debut…

When I was in college, I worked behind the front desk of a major hotel. Directly across the lobby was the hotel bar, a small, dark lounge with the bar counter on the opposite side and a stage at one end. George Thorogood, when he stayed at the hotel, would sit at the far end of the counter, next to the stage.
Connie, the bartender, once told me that her job was to…
