Professor Archibald Stompover

A short sci-fi story by Chuck Keyes

Professor Archibald Stompover stumbled through the doorway into his engineering lab. He's carrying four large totes filled with supplies, and the top tote is hanging over the edge, balancing, about ready to fall. "Oh my goodness," the professor said to himself in his…

Authors of One Interviews: Sudè Khanian

The cool breezes of October seem to slip by us as time moves silently, like a stage hand behind the curtain changing props and set pieces. Before this month ends, you will have the opportunity to read the next installment of the ONE series.…

Julius Thompson 2011 Teen Read Week Presentation!

Decision Making is THE life fundamental that all teenagers must master in order to be successful in adulthood.

The teens that follow the crowd and, not create their own identity, will have problems in reaching their life

goals.

This was the thrust of my presentation to Redan High School (Stone Mountain, Georgia) students to open…

A Poem I Wrote:

This is a poem I wrote a long time ago.  A friend of mine was so touched, she had a plaque made.  she had it engraved in gold letters, on a colored copper plate, and set into a solid oak frame.  It looked so beautiful, I actually considered marketing copies of it...well, until I found out they would have had to sell for $120 each. I usually don't tend to share my poetry, mostly because I'm my worst critic, and I don't think any of my poetry is good enough. But then, this is a…

A Piece Of Heaven - another forgotten poem i wrote ;)

Have you ever grew numb enough to sense reality was fading?

and that white light drew you in?..

Have you ever heard the voice of an angel?

simply Elegant, and utterly soothing in an unimaginable way?

Have you ever seen the innocent darling faces of children?

curiously laughing as they drift from cloud to cloud?

Have you ever sensed the essence of true perfection?

Never compelled to suffer by the shadows of death, disease and sin?

Have…

The First Contact Of Love ...A short sci-fi story by Chuck Keyes

The First Contact Of Love

A short sci-fi story by Chuck Keyes

From across Betty Bee's Antique Store, Brad Campbell noticed a beautiful tall woman. Her brunette hair runs down to beyond the center of her back, her Anime-like gold eyes are exceptionally appealing, and her figure would make any man…

People are strange...

I think you'll all agree that we all have our foibles, things that we do that make us the individuals we are.  Take me, for example.  It's a little known fact that I have to rock myself to sleep at night.  An activity my mother had always hoped I'd grow out of - a hope my other half is still clinging to to this day.  Of course, I'm pleased to say that my particular foible is confined to the privacy of my own bedroom and compared to many of the goings on in many another sleeping quarter, it…

I declared war on that pain.

Life strange and twisted ways somehow opened the door for me and passed me into another reality. I got rid of that pain by refusing to keep it. I threw it away and focused on my path to success.

I have no hate or resentment and I am working on that little anger I feel. I hold and cherish my dreams and continue to believe in me and you but really I believe in me and I.

That is all that it takes to be happy because I desire to be and have fun no matter what cruelty…

Don't judge a book by its cover

So this co-worker comes up to me and asks if I want to read her mom's new book that was just released in Aug. I give her a blank look, and am silently thinking in my head. Okay, if the book sucks, I'll be forced to say nice things about it for the duration of both our employment here. I'm still hesitant about it, then she says it's free. I'll give you a free copy, and you can be like one of those reviewers, and just tell me honestly what you think.

I'm still hesitant, because now I…

Writing for Children...

Okay, I'm working on a children's book, but i'm not sure what words I can use.  When I was a kid, cartoons suggested that children had brains. Starting with my own kids, cartoons were being dumbed down.  The last time I watched modern cartoons, they were making cartoons for preteens, that sounded more like cartoons for 4 year olds.  This makes it hard for me to know what words I can use, and expect my audience to comprehend.

The children's book I am working on, I guess is…

Getting On The Air

I am involved with a new Christian radio station preparing to go on the air in Central Florida. As this is a non-profit, it will rely heavily on volunteers and pledges.
