Ordered copies of my nonfiction book, "Words from my Mouth-Person Addiction yesterday...

I was informed that the official release date of "Words from my Mouth-Person Addiction" is December 3rd. That is unless you order it from the publisher or myself. The publisher is selling it for $29.99 plus $3.99 S&H. It is 336 pages in length, softcover. Yesterday I placed an order and the first 40 will be priced at $21.95 and they will be signed. They will take about 4-6 weeks to arrive to my place!

Whom Do You Love

When I was in college, I worked behind the front desk of a major hotel. Directly across the lobby was the hotel bar, a small, dark lounge with the bar counter on the opposite side and a stage at one end. George Thorogood, when he stayed at the hotel, would sit at the far end of the counter, next to the stage.

Connie, the bartender, once told me that her job was to…

Review: 30.5 by Sudè Khanian

You may recognize Ms. Khanian from the "One" series. Her story is going to debut this month and it is worth considerably more than the 99 Cent cost.

Well, 30.5 is the reason I wanted her to be a… Continue

The Indie Author Book Signing Event

Last weekend I attended my second book signing event to promote my paranormal romance novel Love Hurts. The event took place at Waterstones Bookseller in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. This was my home town so I was very excited. I have spent many years wandering around this book shop, dreaming about the day when I might see my own work on the shelves. And now that day has come!

The lovely staff welcomed me to their store, gave me a mug of coffee, and showed me to my special… Continue

Baby Steps!

Hi everyone. My full name is William O'Neil but I go by W.J. O'Neil more often than not. I'm a father to 5 and a grandfather to 9 (with yet another on the way!) I've been making up and telling stories to my kids for about 20 years now. About 5 yrs ago my wife (Mary) & the kids coaxed me (more like hounded) into putting one of them into print. In order to keep the kids out of a swampy area by the house I told them about what was in it. I've spent the last few years writing "Reeshard and The… Continue

Clone Zone Cody Toye The Author's Lab/Collaboration series

Cody Toye has a way with fantasy/paranormal/ sci-fi/horror. He has done it with his series “Intangibles” and he brings those skills to bear here in “Clone Zone”. The digital short story is quick, furious, and rampaging. This is the 24th installment in The Author’s Lab/Collaborations series and it is a barnburner. Surprisingly the cast of characters is small yet many, basically because they all look like the same person. This story is under consideration to become its own…

E- Book Promotion Days

Those of us in the independent sector of publishing will no doubt know that marketing a new book is akin to burning pound or dollar notes. You do all the promotion, you blog like mad, network like a social prostitute and throw money on great ideas, and all you get as a reward is one measly sale on Amazon.

But the other great thing you notice is that one measly sale makes a significant difference on your chart rating, promoting your book thousands of places up the scale. Many of us…

Regarding Gelati

No, it's not a delicious frozen treat for when you settle in with a good book.

I'm talking about Giovanni Gelati. Maybe you've heard of him? Trestle Press front man, anchor of the Author's Lab collaboration series, social media and internet marketing whiz. I wrote "A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?" with the guy. Yeah, that's him.

Andrew Smith Guest Post

I grew up among bombed buildings and hearing stories from my parents about the difficultes of air raids, so it was little wonder I’d always wanted to write a novel with World War II as its theme. When I found out about the shameful and extraordinarily cruel internment of Italian men in 1940, I knew I had an amazing event around which to build a story. Internment of Italians happened in Britain, where I set the novel, but it also happened in the United States — California recently apologized…
