I currently don't have the mindset to write a novel yet. I can't even come up with a decent short story. I've been trying to better my skill in writing on my own by reading books and stories posted…Continue

Has anyone here ever heard of yaoi?

I read that it is a japanese term meaning boy sex but I believed it to be boy love or romance between two guys. Anyway I was inspired to write a love story about two males as I was reading yaoi…Continue

Is wisdom coherent with creativity when it comes to writing a book?

Writers would have to know things in order to write about them right? Being creative as a writer means to be able to create an original story with what you know. That's what I believe anyway.I posted…Continue

Once again I've written another crappy story, I really don't know what to do! I used to be so enthusiastic about writing but now I'm losing interest in it. I wanted to do so much with it. I always…Continue

I currently don't have the mindset to write a novel yet. I can't even come up with a decent short story. I've been trying to better my skill in writing on my own by reading books and stories posted on the internet. Some are self help guides on how to write a novel and other literary pieces. I've also been writing, journal entries mostly and some ideas for short novels.I was thinking of going back to college and taking a course in English hoping that by doing so would greatly improve my skill in…See More

I read that it is a japanese term meaning boy sex but I believed it to be boy love or romance between two guys. Anyway I was inspired to write a love story about two males as I was reading yaoi manga. A manga is like a comic script. Anyway, I thought it was funny and romantic and it really pleased me. I suppose I have weird taste.A love story between two guys might not be to everyone's liking but I plan to make this good.See More

Writers would have to know things in order to write about them right? Being creative as a writer means to be able to create an original story with what you know. That's what I believe anyway.I posted a short story I wrote a while back but deleted it a few days ago. I was unsure if the idea I had made sense. The idea was that the character wished for wisdom to become a great writer. Looking back, I thought perhaps it should’ve been talent or creativity instead of wisdom. I started overthinking…See More

I’ve had a lot of free time so I decided to spend it by writing. It’s just been so long since I’ve written anything. I have a lot of ideas; I just have trouble making a story out of them. I don’t know if its writer’s block or I’m just not creative enough. Whenever I feel down I write about what I feel and stuff and it always made me feel a little better. I’m currently an aspiring writer; my ambition is to become a published writer.See More

Editors are writers

Posted on September 2, 2015 at 4:32am 0 Comments

I recently read about editors who became writers later on in their lives. They published several short stories and novels.
I was thinking if I become an editor, I'll be able to write everyday, get some practice and hopefully be skilled enough to write a book worthy of being published. I don't know which is the harder occupation: Editor or writer.

Depression

Posted on August 26, 2015 at 12:09pm 0 Comments

I think that reality is affecting my imagination in a bad way. I've been too depressed thinking about my own life that I haven't been able to write a fictional story. I've come up with a few ideas which I wrote down in my notebook but still no clear concept.

I always thought that being depressed was a good thing for a writer but now I'm not sure.

Marieh, if you post what you said there in your blog at the forum more people will see it probably. Give more detail on what you're struggling with too - is the plot you're having problems with, keeping the characters straight in your head etc. if you can share an example that would be good. You need to be as specific as you can about where you think the problem is. Welcome aboard! :)
