Looking for ideas for a MG-age writing course

Posted on February 5, 2012 at 3:13pm 0 Comments

I need some advice, and I decided that people who actually get paid to write were the best ones to ask. We homeschool, and although my son likes to write, he's never taken any kind of writing class. Several friends with older kids (middle school) have their kids currently enrolled in a writing class that's good, and that the kids enjoy, but the teacher will be moving on to other projects at the end of the school year and will no longer be able to teach this class. I am not currently accepting new books for review. If you have already sent a request, I will get back to you as quickly as possible. If I already have your book, I'm working through my list and your review is on the way. I will be accepting books again starting in January 2012.

Genres I Like

Posted on September 4, 2011 at 10:44pm 3 Comments

After I posted that I review books and will read most anything, a member asked me what genres I actually like to read.

I really do enjoy reading almost everything. I have an incredibly annoying sense of curiosity. :-)

My favorite fiction genres are historical fiction, romances (preferably historical, but I enjoy contemporary, too) and mysteries. I do read books with paranormal elements, but they usually fall into one or more of the other categories, as well.

Amanda, you might want to post a new discussion in the Free Book Marketing Group that you're willing to do that. I'm assuming you don't charge for that. Or the Promotions & Marketing Group. Welcome aboard. :)

Amanda, was wondering if you had time to do a review for my new book, Southern Attraction.  Here is the blurp and excerpt if you want to see what it is about.
