I think having 2 published is a big deal, Elizabeth! :) Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw and your article being in the right place at the right time. What an editor rejects one week they can accept in another and they can pass on some for reasons like space restrictions or seasonality. Who knows how their minds work. :) Perseverance will win out at the end of the day.

Many accept email submissions too. Have you thought about sharing them with a wider audience, like US or European editors? I bet we could drum up places you could submit to outside NZ.
