Thank you Carol. I am fixing that now.

I've decided to give Createspace a try.  I'm hoping this is the right way to go but seems  very easy to work with so far.  From all of the comments I have read, no one has commented on issues with Createspace so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Keep us up to date on how you make out - am interested.  Thanks.

I received my first call from Createspace inquiring about my publishing needs.  The seem great so far.  I was impressed they contacted me so quickly and my assigned publishing consultant will be contacting me Wednesday.  Will keep everyone posted on the experience!  Keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Andrea, did they mention if they put your book on other stores?  the only thing i like about my publisher, is they made my book available all over the world...they just didn't tell anyone it's out there..so they know to search the stores for it...the first quarter this year, I sold 1 hardcover, 2 paperbacks, and 4 ebooks....only 1 paperback was with amazon, none with B&N....so larger exposure is better.

How much does it cost when you use their consultants?  I've only ever done it all on my own...

...Createspace

diggypod.com is cheaper than createspace; I think they have consultants as well

Comment by Carl Towns on October 25, 2012 at 12:01am

I looked at diggypod, had I printed my book there it would cost $10.10 per book at the minimum order of 24 books. If I wanted to pay a cheaper price for that same book, I would have to order 750 copies and it is only .04 cheaper than what I pay at createspace. I'm not sure how you see them as cheaper. Of course if you have plenty of money to spend, you can get them there at diggypod and would bring in ALL the revenue instead of just a royalty as at createspace. But I am willing to pay createspace a royalty. Also you would have to buy an ISBN, unless of course you are planning on selling them all yourself through signings and the like.

I want to own my rights to everything I've created. All I want is my books printed. I know that I have to give the printing company the ISBN #. I know that the publishing company says that I have all my rights, but not really. They have rights to the high resolution pdf form which print better. A lot of printers don't like making print off some one else print job. It's something to it.
