Our recent author, Rorry Nighttrain East is like many of us in that he prefers to write out his manuscripts. He mails them to us, we type them up and publish them to our site. We also publish print copies and have now published two of his works with another one on the way.

At our last book fair we sold a copy of his first book.

This could be you!

Are there any royalties-paying publishers in the group? I've participated in numerous self-pub projects and I'm a firm believer that POD is the future of publishing. Traditional publishing has failed to respond to the new world created by technology; it's greatest innovation has been to tighten the noose around the mid-list and new authors.

Because I believe there's a new day in publishing that will marry the best of traditional publishing with the new technology, I'm in the process of forming a new publishing house, Mad Catter Publishing. This will not be a self-pub venture. It will be a traditional royalties-paying publishing company that focuses 95% on e-publishing. There will be no expense to the author. Each book will go through the submission process and will be selected by our editorial board.

Mad Catter will launch its first books this fall and will enter the market with a new authors campaign to discover and publish one new author of exceptional quality every month in its first year.

Would love to hear from anyone with experience to share.
