Authors.com

Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I was told this group is the best place to let authors know I'm looking for books to review on my blog. My blog is Living, Learning, and Loving Life and I get about 2500 pageviews/month. I'm also on Twitter as @4LBookBlogger.

My blog is not strictly book reviews, but is also a "stories about my kids" blog, so most of my readers are women ages 30-50. Most of my reviews are Christian books, but that's just because I've been reviewing through two programs run by Christian publishers. I'll read almost anything but I'll only review books on my blog that don't have graphic sex. (I don't know why that's my "line in the sand", but it is.)

I also post reviews on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads (profile's private there, but the reviews show up on the individual books), and GetGlue.com.

Right now, I have about a two-week delay on reviews, but I try to post reviews as soon after the release date as possible to get the reviews on the retail sites.

I do weekly book giveaways on my blog. Unless you object, your book would be part of a giveaway. I usually do the reviews and giveaways separately, but if you prefer, I can do it at the same time. I can accept print books and Kindle-compatible ebooks. I only give away the print copies. If you would like me to give away your ebook, we can work that out.

If you have a general question, please ask it here. I may have missed something important. If you want to offer a book, you can email me at chefamanda@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Amanda

Update: I'm currently running a 6-8 week delay on reviews.

Also, I can not afford to purchase books to review. All books that I review on my blog have been given to me by the author or the publisher specifically for a review. This is standard procedure for reviews. I wish I could buy every book, but right now, I can only help by posting reviews.

This a great service Amanda. Thanks! Book reviews are always needed.

Can we send copies of the books actual? or Ebooks? I have 2 children's chapter books published and 2 more coming next year, probably (once I sort out my publishers)

Hi, Sean!

I prefer physical books if you have them, because then I can give them away to my readers. If you only have ebooks (Kindle-compatible) or prefer that I not give the book away, that's fine, too. I'm pretty flexible.

Since you're promoting that here it would be considerate of you to add a copy of the review to the Authors.com Book Reviews Group as well, Amanda. :) You can also add your giveaways to the Events Calendar.
Sure. I didn't know there was a book reviews group. :-)

Thank you for your kind words, Lyn. I'm glad you've enjoyed the blog. :-)

As for advice, I've never marketed a book, so the other authors here would be much more helpful than I could be.

Your books look like fun reads and I'd be glad to review them for you if you want. You can email me at chefamanda@gmail.com and we can discuss details.

Hello Amanda Chambers; I would be delighted to be interviewed by you too.  However, I do have my first book called Nightmares and Dreams as an kindle at Amazon and you can upload through Smashwords.

Please let me know if you can get it okay.

Lyn

Hi Amanda. I've also read and enjoyed your blog.

I've just put a couple of books onto Kindle and would really appreciate someone reviewing them. I've also got a science fiction novel published through a publisher who has put the book on Kindle.

Hi Amanda,

Can I get the downloads to you somehow. I certainly don't expect you to pay for them.

Lisa.

Lisa,

That wasn't directed at anyone in particular. It was just a clarification. :-) I'm writing a couple of posts for Adopt An Indie Month right now, but I'll get back here and check out these books in a day or so. (Procrastination, thy name is internet. Or something.)

I know it wasn't directed to me in particular, but you're right, it's unfair to expect you to pay for material you are reviewing. I'm quite willing to send you my stuff via e-mail or any other way that you'd like.

Cheers,

Lisa.
