Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Hello Everyone,

I am only getting my first Fantasy Novel Published at the moment, and am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the work that I need to do. I wasn't aware so much went into a book. The fun part is actually writing it. I created my own website www.aoifemariesheridan.com and really hope it is up to scratch. The first five pages are posted there. If anyone is interested in reading them and telling me what they think I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Just a little update taking the advice of Anna L.Walls and set up a Twitter account and Facebook page so thanks for the advice.

Hello Aoife,

Firstly, well done on publishing your book! This really will be the hard part now, as you begin the slog of marketing and promoting to get your name out there. My advice is research as much as you can about your genre and audience, and the best places to sell. For example, I have been told that fantasy and sci-fi conventions are good places to attend and exhibit, so if you find any within traveling distance, get yourself out there. I will check out your website...

Hi Catherine,

Thanks ever so much for your kind words. I will take your advice and try and see if there is any conventions within my area. Do you write fantasy also?

I write adult paranormal romance. My Redcliffe series is sort of a cross between Being Human (the UK version) and True Blood. It is set in a fictional town in Cornwall and follows the adventures of a supposedly human heroine...

I write adult dark fantasy/romance/erotica and have 1 published on kindle, currently reviewing the second.

Grats on the book and yes I was shocked by how much is involved:)

GOOD LUCK:)

would it be incorrect to say that scifi is very similar to fantasy. I know one is futuristic and one is make believe as to say. but would it be correct to but them in the same category.? any suggestions?
