My name is The Outlaw co-host of The Writer's Block on www.svmixradio.com. We are interested in an interview with you about your book or poetry (or anyone in the writing genre). The show airs live Thursdays at 7pm to 9pm est and the show is all about the writing genre. We interview authors and poets, illustrator and editors, anyone in the writing genre.

I review books, Michael.  I also provide pre-publication ms review.  This is done privately through my website ("contact me") or through Authorsden.com.  There are a list of services through Authorsden that are available.  You may want to take a look at that site to get an idea of what is available to you.

I also recommend AuthorsDen as a source for services available to authors. As former Director for Kirkus Reviews and Kirkus Discoveries, I can claim from experience that reviews are an essential piece of any book marketing program.

 

You never want to be the only one saying your book is great. Be sure to obtain objective, unbiased book reviews, either from literary peers or professional services such as Kirkus, Foreword/Clarion, Blue Ink, etc.

 

Another thing to keep in mind about book reviews is that even if/when not glowing from beginning to end, most reviews can still be used to the author's advantage. Many authors cast reviews aside when they include anything less than flattering. This is a mistake. I have helped countless authors pull useful pieces from reviews they would otherwise have stuck in a drawer.

 

While there are never guarantees of a positive review (and shouldn't be, at least not from a credible source), that is precisely why they count.

Google has a scam going on. If you sign up for their $75 to $100 free advertisement, they will not even try to help you. They will give you the run-around with switching phone numbers and extensions that lead you to someone that nows nothing about what's going on. Stay away from this scam.
