What is your best tip for new authors?

Right on, Mathew! You punched out the basics very well. Now punch lines for hook purposes on Twitter sounds great and I'm going off to try that now. Sales are dismal across all my titles and it's really depressing me.

I've found that the best twitter hashtags are #amwriting #amediting and anything to do with kindle or the ipad. A basic example "Check out Random Stranger, #book 1 of the Abstract series, currently on the #kindle ! #amwriting" and that gets eaten up pretty quickly.

LOVE the book title for your book five! I can just imagine where that story could go. Great idea. My youngest has 8 dream catchers of various sizes hanging from her canopy bed...making sure there are no bad dreams!

Yup, I like it too. There are of course dream catchers in it and they play a powerful role. The whole series is based in the Land of Dreams and is a fantasy adventure for anyone who is young at heart. I am also writing several short stories to go with the books and to help teach me (and practise) more about story writing.

Grow a thick skin... Not everyone will like what you write - and some of those people will have no problem saying it right out there. Understand that while some people like coke - others only drink pepsi. Accept that there will be people who do not like your writing and focus on the ones that do.
